Martin - wish we'd known - you were only pitched just across the field from us! We were in the quiet camping section, same field as you but at the top (near the really steep gateway up to the top field and car park)!

Lugging the gear in our trolley back up there was a slog! I saw a couple of trailers down there, I can't imagine how they pulled them back up loaded!

Sorry to hear about your tarp - the wind really got up for a while in the night on Saturday didn't it

I'll upload a few pics when I get home from work - my daughter is in the festival guide if you kept it - she's the one in the round photo wearing a hard hat on the diggerland page! (Taken last year - this is our 2nd car fest)

Have you noticed the tent on the Carfest logo - looks like a sea green Karsten I think!

Not as many as I thought, sorry chaps but this was the first time with the sloping front wall which, if I'm honest, I think I prefer the flat one. Easier to open, more light and breath ability with the large mesh windows which the sloping FF doesn't have; guess we could modify the SFF?

Well impressed with the Fenixlight;

Vent ropes came in handy for TV in bed!

Perfect viewing angle when lying down;

Spot of dinner;

Then breakfast the following morning;

Followed by a long walk on Slapton Sands with our boys;

...and so to bed;

...the following day, in to Dartmouth;

...for a spot of lunch, cheers!!:

Cheers Camping Light.
Glad your trip went well

Looking at our forecast, the possible chance of showers for our 2 overnighters en route seem to have diminished :-)

Looks like a few days of very high 20's (possibly creeping into 30's) when we reach Frejus, with the a minimal chance of light showers over the 4th/5th day, and finishing with a good week or so of dry days around 23c to 25c... absolutely perfect for cycling... and camping, of course!
Hoping for as open a pitch as possible, but still happy to be in dappled shade, if need be. :-)

Pics to follow... that goes without saying!

Roll on Thursday!

Feeling the the excitement as far away as Devon Mucker - two more sleeps and you're off!!

Planning our last 7 nights and as you mentioned Alsace, we've been looking (cheaper than some sites in Cornwall, which was the other option)but Mrs S sent her passport for renewal about 10 days ago so not sure it will be back in time. Application process is "pending" so going to go on a charm offensive and speak very nicely to the nice passport people in Glasgow and see if they can ching, ching the little begger!

Has anyone got a cloth to wipe this tea that I've just spat all over my lap top!!

Muckerette asked what I laughed at, so I showed her... The word was only "Noooo!", but the look on her face was more "Well, I've seen it all now"!

We're not into camping telly, but have to say, that is bloody genius!

Ah well... Slight change of plan... only one more sleep, before we set off now! :-)
Sneaked into worked on BH Monday, so managed to finish early today, and wangled tomorrow off too, so we head off tomorrow, at our leisure... albeit only to Folkestone, and some brick built accommodation for the night, before getting back on track (literally!) with our 08:50 Chunnel on Thursday. Well, it saves setting the alarm for 2am Thursday morning! :-)

Good luck with the passport thing... no seriously, Good luck!

Martin - I saw a fair few trolleys losing a wheel over the weekend, hope you got it up and running quickly again - they are invaluable for festivals aren't they - ours looks the same as yours minus the canopy - Tectake I think the make was.

Anyway, apologies and will get back on topic after this post I promise! Here's a few pics

"The hill" - I think I've spotted your tent as well as ours in this shot (I am hawk eye after all), I put red arrows to see if I'm right!!

Our tents (before the tent arrived and pitched on our guys!)

Skiiddy - pics looks good - you need to get some sort of window in your FW, far too dark without. You can have a mesh window in there with an external curtain if a fixed plastic one is not what you're after.

I too prefer the FFW, but its just not big enough for us and I think we'd need another EA to use one!

You TV trick is epic!

To be honest Mucker, Mrs S was joking when she said a bit of telly in bed would be nice but, I like a challenge and it worked - she thought it was brilliant! I was a bit disappointed because you cant use a remote control . We usual play cards OR Monopoly OR have had far too much red vino, its lights out by 2200!!

Still, a little self-deprecating humor never hurt anyone...

Looks like you had loads of fun Jim - thank goddess it didn't rain too much, that field would be reminiscent of Glastonbury (most years) otherwise!

Yes made the canopy last week👍 We asked the guy at airs and graces if we could have a wheel - he then showed me the 100 or so others that broke that weekend! He never had seen anything like this...

Thanks guys.

Just got the roof box and bikes to load this morning, plus food cupboard and fridge into the car.
Would get everything (bar the bikes!) in the car, but this roof box makes life so, so much easier. Everything in there isn't needed until final destination, making it so much easier to get at everything in the car needed for overnighters and en-route... and I can see out of the rear view mirror! Can't even manage that for a normal weekend, usually (without the box)!

I doubt we'll have the time and/or patience for pics on the go, so you may all have to wait until I get back... and don't anyone say "Hurry back"!! LOL!

Enjoy the peace and quiet folks!
