We are going down into southern France next week where we are bound to bump into loads of Dutch De Waard owners - I am interested to see what they make of an Albatros pegged out with Deltas ( probably take the p*ss no doubt... )

Leon, I can almost hear you hyper-ventilating with excitement from here!

They are lovely tents. Like you, I don't feel much of a need to use my delta pegs on our Cabanon Pyramide 6 as the pegs provided are so hefty and the tent feels so stable anyway - but I did change over to deltas on the four corners and the front long guys during Cornish gales the other weekend just for maximum piece of mind. The tent wasn't moving at all (unlike quite a few others on the site) but I felt it was better safe than sorry.

Anyway, that zeester is so pretty. Do de Waard sell the tailored rug as well? I like the diagrams showing how you can fit in one/two/three people. MT

I discovered something brilliant (well I thought so!!) If you ensure your search engine settings have 'search for any languauge, as opposed to just english, when you google 'DeWaardTenten' the search listing should come up with an option to 'translate this page'. click on that, and it seems to be able to translate the whole website.

Managed to introduce Deltas to some Dutch De Waard owners while in France - they were understandably a bit sceptical until they saw them - I think they were worried they would spoil the "style" of the tent. The whole point of putting Delta pegs onto a De Waard is not to make the tent more stable in high winds as anyone who owns one will know that the De Waard is one of, if not the most, weather resistant tent in the world and definitely does not need Deltas to make it more stable. However, if you have very young children running around your tent you do not want to be worried about them tripping on a guy and falling onto one of the 30-plus big metal pegs sticking out of the ground surrounding the tent - Deltas are much safer in this respect - the kids will still trip over a guy but at least they'll be landing on something flat.

Where is the review of the Zeester? It looks brilliant and I'm looking for a quick to put up weekend tent. We have an old Albatross which is fantastic for long summer holiday pitched in one place but setting up is a long job.

Hi Alison, my review of the Zeester is here!. A cheaper alternative would be the Cabanon Guadeloupe which is like a smaller and simpler version of your De Waard, still good quality and only takes 15 mins to put up!

Hi Martin! The pegs that came with our tent are just thicker and stronger versions of standard tent pegs, which hammer right down into the ground without protruding. I do have a load of Deltas, but as you say I can't see the point as the tent is rock solid without them!

The Zeester is a fine looking tent....reminds me of the of the old Blacks Good Companions...does the door zip at the centre pole on the Zeester?

Has anyone in the UK actually bought one yet?
