North View caravan park near Garstang is well worth a look. I can't comment specifically on dog walks but the owners also run boarding kennels so can probably advise! I do know that there's a canal nearby and that the Forest of Bowland is a short drive away.

Campbells is in the South Ribble area so you would probably be better looking South of the River Ribble as the traffic can be a bit congested getting over the River Ribble. That's assuming we aren't in lockdown again.
Have you tried asking Campbells if they can make any suggestions?

Years ago you used to get a 2 night site voucher from Campbell's when you bought a van from them - for Royal Umpire Caravan Park at Croston. Not really our type of site - especially in August. I prefer the advice given by people on here!
I appreciate the thought though - thank you.

Unfortunately the web-site says that from 2020 the site has seasonal pitches only, but thank you anyway.

So after much deliberation we've decided to spend our first 3 nights at the Clitheroe C&CC site, the thinking being that if there was an issue with the new van there might be a bit more support on the club site until we could get back to the dealer. We're then moving to a brand new private 5 van site at Low Sizergh Farm near Kendal for 4 nights (not cheap at £25 a night but it ticks all the boxes otherwise - and still cheaper than the club site) and then to Beckses Caravan Park at Penruddock, between Penrith and Keswick, for 5 nights. Then we may come home - or we may move on elsewhere, depending on the weather and our inclination. The toilet/shower blocks will be closed at the Clitheroe and Penruddock sites so we'll be using our own facilities, but we generally do anyway.

Probably the best decision, Clitheroe C&CC. Been there a few times in the past, it's in a nice area, although I believe that now there are new houses along one side of it, where there used to be a car park. Only read about it when they were being built, not been since before then. If you can get a pitch near the river, that's a nice area.

BTW, agree with you about Royal Umpire! We live not far from there, and our neighbour's sister + OH stayed there for a few days last year. Not by choice, but because she wanted to be near to her brother; according to our neighbours it was awful!

Just over the bridge from the ccc is Edisford bridge camp site which is brilliant spotless toilets and is quite cheap, you can also stay later on a Sunday so no dashing off at 12

The pub at the side is brilliant serving really tasty homemade food, probably won’t be open, worth noting for the future
