got my new 2021 - 2022 c&mc club sites book just before christmas, had a good look through, and checked against the old one, seems we have lost 3 sites, market rasen racecourse
       fakenham racecourse
       blair drummond ( scotland)
these, without any new ones for this year, together with possibly an increase in demand, may lead to shortages this new year?

this maybe has been mentioned in the magazine ,but i havent had much time to read it this last year.

Market Rasen Racecourse Caravan Park

Seem to remember reading some where that the Market Rasen Racecourse site was no longer a C&MC affiliated site but still is a caravan park.   Guess it could be the same with the other 2 sites above.

I saw that Fakenham and Market Rasen were no longer CAMC - presume it’s so they can have a bit more autonomy about opening dates, numbers etc. I guess COVID has made a lot of businesses rethink how they would like to operate- Exeter racecourse decided not to open to campers this year which was disappointing as we were hoping to use it as a stopover!
I’d be fairly confident that Fakenham at least will continue to accept caravans - I interviewed their general manager a couple of years ago and he told me that it was a very important revenue stream !

Probably worth remembering that independant sites included in the CMC site book usually have to pay for doing so which adds to their costs especially if those fees have recently been reviewed. I remember years ago talking to the owner of BO Peep Farm at Adderbury who had just withdrawn for the affiliate scheme because of a large increase in fees. Don't know if that was the same for the campsites mentioned.

Thanks for this alert. I've put Blair Drummond back on my "worth a try" list now it's not CAMC, as we're not members - though it'll be a while yet of course. I do sometimes wonder if people confuse this Blair Drummond (by Stirling) with the Blair Castle site (by Pitlochry) as I've read both called just "Blair".
