The problem I've found with the sites I've been looking at is that every w/e is booked solid, therefore you can only book a few days midweek! I'm not dragging my van halfway across the country for a 3 day stay! And I've no desire to stay close to home, I want to escape the God awful place! I'd normally book no less than a week, and very happy to do weekday arrivals and departures, but it's impossible if you can't stay through the w/e!

Be absolutely delighted when the brain dead go back to Benidorm and camp sites return to something closer to what used to be normal!

That seems to be an issue with CAMC sites and not commercial sites?

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

With the exception of the Bank and August holidays I am not sure why every one thinks camp sites are going to be chock a block full. In the past couple of days we have booked a couple of sites and had no issue with making reservations.
When lockdown is lifted for campsites many people who have bought caravans recently or for the first time will probably be going back to work and will not use the caravan until August,

It might be worth emailing these sites. We went to Shottisham last year and they appeared to be fully booked for the weekends, but their website said they held a few pitches back for longer stays.
Sure enough, when I enquired about a 7 night stay, there was a pitch available.

So far I've never had a problem booking for 7 - 14 days anywhere, but starting on a Monday. Just out of curiosity I have tried booking on the Saturday for the same period and it has come back "no availability". I can only presume it was the start date that brought about that result.

I have also spent two weeks on a site when the middle weekend was absolutely crammed, but by Monday the site was 85% empty again. I have a feeling that some sites do indeed hold pitches for longer stays, as I'm sure they must prefer to take such bookings over just one or two nights.

Best Regards,
Colin

We have only booked one farm site near Bideford and that was only to please her indoors who was worried that being away on a bank holiday w/e we wouldn't find any free areas, Farmer told me bookings were very slow even on the B/H due to people still not really wanting to risk mixing or using shared facilities.

Not a problem for us
