If any one is thinking of coming to Kent to see the Tour de France this year, I have just read in the local paper that Folkestone Racecourse is going to open for campers, between Thurs 5th and Sun 8th July. The race starts in London on Fri 6th and comes through East Kent on Sun 8th. They have a website with the details www.folkestone-racecourse.co.uk

They are taking caravans and tents,not sure about mobile homes, and all the normal facilties at the racecourse are going to be open.

We are booked for Abbey Wood so that we can go into London for the Saturday race round London then they race past the site on the Sunday.

No one seems to be showing a lot of interest in this YET. lol I am sure we will be glad we are booked.

Good to know there are going to be plenty of pitches but I think they are charging a bit too much £25 with hook up and even worse £18 for cyclists/walkers.  I can't remember how much we are paying the CC but it isn't that much.
