Just ordered a Coleman Cobra 2 for 81 on Amazon France. It is for the wife and I for short mountain trips. Next one will be the Mourne wall walk.
We wanted a Nordisk Halland LW but it costs more than our Hypercamp Alaska and is only 400gm lighter. We already have the three man Cobra which is great for longer walks. It will be luxury to have only a kilo each. The trade off is the amount of space but it is only for two or three nights at the most.
I know someone will mention the vango banshee or Nevis but the Cobra is lighter and more spacious and we can pitch it quickly.
Should get it next week. Roll on May/June and the Mournes.

Sounds like a bargain to me. Big fan of Coleman here and only a kilo each to carry is pretty good really.

The only downside is that there is only one entrance...but there are two porches for storage. This will be our third Coleman. Never had a problem with them.

Good to stick with a brand you are familiar and happy with. Sounds a very good deal.
Enjoy the Mourne wall walk and using the new tent.

Cheers! The force 10 will still be our base camp tent as it is roomy for a two man and warmer.

Just love the F10...
Just bought a small pup tent out of curiosity and dirt cheap, French Army surplus....more like a cotton bivi and groundsheet in one....hopefully a review on site soon?

Aim to hike the North Downs Way with young grandson who is getting the bug for hiking and camping so hopefully this will get a good try out along the way

Nice and light the big Agnes. They have some innovative stuff. I am thinking of getting their air mats. Our vaude ones are a bit mildewed inside. Isn't it pitched inner first though with a lot of mesh on the inner?
The grandson will love it and hopefully get a lifelong activity.

yes the copper spur is normally pitched inner first , inner is nearly all mesh, however the guys at REI did show me how to pitch the outer first, awkward but doable in bad weather.

yes their mats did look good so do their sleeping bag systems where you attach the bag to the pad so you don't roll off during the night.

trouble with the outfitters in the USA is there is such a vast array of choice if only I had a bigger bank balance and a spare shipping container ......

I like the bags with the mat sleeves. Our kelty bags only have loops for attaching cords under the mats. We use inflatable mats rather than Sims so the sleeves don't always work.
The Irish post office have a US delivery address so one can take advantage of US shops that only deliver to US addresses.it costs from 16 euro for up to 2 kilos sliding to 53 Euros for 20 kilos.
As the wife has decided that the 2020 holiday is part of the Kingsland I will have to look at mats.

Wish the Post Office in London had a US address would make life so much easier, there are a number of items that I have looked at on US sites but they are only allowed to ship to us addresses.
Even if they do ship out of the country time you have added shipping and custom charges it can make the whole far too expensive.

I think Amazon do it for select items and have a refundable customs duty deposit included in the price.

There was a nice vango helium for sale from the states and also a Bora. Better prices than this side of the pond. I think it is called amazon global.

Coleman are noted for good quality tents at reasonable prices .
I have a Coleman Novaex2 tent bought for 80 years ago .
Found it to be very reliable ,easy to put up and spacious , so good all rounder.

So the Cobra sounds a good bargain I'm sure it will be up to your expectations .
