Can anyone recommend a good unbreakable wine glass - not your pound shop plastic affair, its for a present to put in with other wine related camping items. I'm looking for something nice. Thanks

Our local garden centre had some lovely sets in last year, plastic but good stuff. They were about 12 for a set of 4. Maybe have a look in a similar place? Not sure if it's a tad earth though..... They put them out when all the bbq stuff comes out.... It's still sledges at the moment!

Fab time in France again.... Roll on next year!

I have seen reasonable stuff in Asda in previous years. Don't know if they are in at the moment as they do seem seasonal.

I bought some nice ones from our local Co-op but too early for them to be out yet. The shelves where they normally go are full of Easter eggs and choc so I suspect it won't be long before they appear.   Having said that I was in Homebase at the weekend and they had started putting their summer stuff out so you may find some.

I have just bought some really good quality ones from Homesense (homeware version of TK Maxx) for 1.99 each. They had Champagne flutes, Wine Glasses, Goblets and Tall Glasses - all around 1.49 - 1.99 each. When I brought them home OH thought they were actually glass. If you haven't got a Homesense close you may find them in a TK Maxx.

BHS had some nice ones in when I was in at the weekend...we have the asda ones, they are okay, but nothing special - a bit thick and clunky.

For the real deal, you need to get hold of somthing like the "GSi folding Wine Glass" made from tough Polycarbonate Lexan Resin.

Not cheap at around 6 a pop, be we have been using four of them for over ten years, and they are still good as new.

At 10 fl oz capacity, they hold a good slug of vin rouge, enjoy!

Another vote for polycarbonate over acrylic (not as thick). We have something like these.

The unbreakable ones are made of plastic, the better ones use polycarbonate.

I find that cracks will develop over time eventually even with very good polycarbonate ones.

Hence I use glass ones myself, the stackable wine glasses and tumblers are from catering supplier Nisbets. The larger ones are cheapo ones from supermarkets.

I have a polycarbonate beer glass that I use when camping, it's a similar weight and thickness to a glass one unlike the acrylic ones.

Drink from the bottle then you won't have to worry about glasses.
