I have rock pegs that have a flat top that are hammered into the ground, but the bottom half of the peg is twisted like a screw.

I have to say thanks Mucker. I thought the forum was getting a bit quite, then you come along with some great posts/topics.
I will be honest and say when I first read the subject title (what's in your peg bag). I initially thought clothes pegs but realised this was the wrong answer and not that kind of "peg bag".

Just a quick re-cap.....

Following the plastic attachments (left) breaking, I fitted some of these industrial roofing screw washers (I'm in the trade) to some of my 8" hard ground pegs (right). Used them this weekend, and I honestly think I prefer them!!
Obviously, the line gets looped around the actual peg, and the washer is just to stop the line coming back over over the peg head. I presume it has the same effect as a "T Bar" type peg.
As the black part of the washer is rubber, I have no worries (at this early stage, at least) about any rubbing/wearing of the guy line. And quite by chance, they are a really snug fit, and don't slide off without deliberate encouragement. I left a gap between washer and peg head (as in the pic), and knocked them in until the rubber made contact with the ground. Any deeper, and that gap would have closed, but this way, my prise bar hooked straight into the gap. (Would work equally well with standard claw hammer). No fiddling about... Hook it on, one twist (the ground was very firm soil) and they pulled out nicely.
Forgot to take close up pic in action... will amend that at the weekend, when we go again! As this is the sort of thing I can readily get my hands on, free of charge, it is an ideal solution for those annoying plastic attachments that either slide off, spin around unless well buried, or of course, split in two the moment you show them a peg puller!!
In much the same way as Shaun123 was happy with his broom handle cap for his poles... I'm quite chuffed with this.... result!!
