Geoff...
Peg pullers.... I would, under normal circumstances, advise you shop for your next one at Delta.... alas, (understandably, of course) all SS products are on hold! :-(

Mystery object...
Not got a clue.... does/can the shaft be pushed into the wider part, (maybe even spring loaded?) or is it solid?

Mucker, that jemmy looks like it'd do the job. We had one of these with the camper and loved it, but the only current source for them wants £20 and I'm not paying that.

Be interested then in the Screwfix jobbie.

The guy that gave it to me implied you make a hole with it first so you can put your peg in. I just thought to myself jesus that would have to be one thick peg. That's why I asked no more questions about it. I believe he had a trailer tent some years back. I will keep it in my peg bag. One day I will find a use for it. Enjoy your weekend away. If our budget was never ending we would go away this weekend as well. Still 23 days camping in the last 5 weeks shouldn't complain. Geoff

I have rock pegs that have a flat top that are hammered into the ground, but the bottom half of the peg is twisted like a screw.

As stated these are still classed as rock pegs for hard ground. The twist at the point is to provide grip, the idea being they are better than smooth pegs...

I have to say thanks Mucker. I thought the forum was getting a bit quite, then you come along with some great posts/topics.

I will be honest and say when I first read the subject title (what's in your peg bag). I initially thought clothes pegs but realised this was the wrong answer and not that kind of "peg bag".

Mike I thought this was a bit of kit used for bank withdrawals (along with a balaclava). Just realised this is a genuine peg removal product. Looks interesting but as you say currently expensive. Did you say you had one...?

The Easy Lever

Yes, the seller implies it's a current design of his/hers, but we had one exactly the same 15 years ago with our Pathfinder FC. Left it in it when we sold the FC due to downsizing home. The lever idea was brilliant ( I'm not good at bending and pulling - don't ask) and the hook was great for zipping in the awning.

Ah well. I'm going to look at Mucker's version. £3.99 I can manage.

When I was asking about the functions of different pegs. The design of the peg above, is to turn when it hits stones.   I tend to use this type more, in the Lake District or North Wales aka, Snowdonia.

Ah. I think I see. That must have been what the earlier poster meant. Whereas when I've thought of screw pegs, I've just thought of the drill ones.

Well. All I can now say is that I never would have imagined there were so many different kinds of pegs, or that so many people could have so much to say about them!!

Inspired by Muckers peg bag photos I decided to sort my baskets out as they were all mixed up some in one basket others mixed in peg bags.
most emptied on the ground and semi sorted:

plastic pegs in one basket, V pegs & anchors in another then pin pegs bagged in the bottom of the third basket with rock pegs, mushroom pegs (may move to the plastic basket), claw hammer, peg pullers and bag of spare guys on top. I decided to leave the awning tie down kit in its own bag.

Basket two on top of basket one with the tie down kit on top for transporting although may steal Muckers idea of using a large bag to carry all:

Mallets are stored in the boot of the car and are easy to get to when fully loaded.

Just a quick re-cap.....

Following the plastic attachments (left) breaking, I fitted some of these industrial roofing screw washers (I'm in the trade) to some of my 8" hard ground pegs (right). Used them this weekend, and I honestly think I prefer them!!

Obviously, the line gets looped around the actual peg, and the washer is just to stop the line coming back over over the peg head. I presume it has the same effect as a "T Bar" type peg.
As the black part of the washer is rubber, I have no worries (at this early stage, at least) about any rubbing/wearing of the guy line. And quite by chance, they are a really snug fit, and don't slide off without deliberate encouragement. I left a gap between washer and peg head (as in the pic), and knocked them in until the rubber made contact with the ground. Any deeper, and that gap would have closed, but this way, my prise bar hooked straight into the gap. (Would work equally well with standard claw hammer). No fiddling about... Hook it on, one twist (the ground was very firm soil) and they pulled out nicely.

Forgot to take close up pic in action... will amend that at the weekend, when we go again! As this is the sort of thing I can readily get my hands on, free of charge, it is an ideal solution for those annoying plastic attachments that either slide off, spin around unless well buried, or of course, split in two the moment you show them a peg puller!!

In much the same way as Shaun123 was happy with his broom handle cap for his poles... I'm quite chuffed with this.... result!!
