I have bought a 2000 Swift Corniche 14/2 SB.
The alarm is dead. The handbook mentions checking battery life but I can't find a bettery? The handbook does not tell you where the battery is? I have gone over the caravan in all cupboards under seats etc.
Is it an optional extra to have a battery fitted and the alarm working?

Fred

If it is a Swift caravan then it is likely to be a Sargent alarm.
I think that all their batteries are contained within the alarm unit which you will probably find under one of the front seats. The alarm battery is re-charged by the caravan battery so if that is flat it is likely the alarm one has followed suit.
If it is a Sargent alarm have a look at their website and don't be frightened to phone. Their technical service is very good.

Thank you for your reply.
I would love to find a battery under the seats or anywhere in the caravan??? perhaps I should pry the panel off the wall to see if batteries are behind??
I will contact Swift. Easy on previous Lunar caravan.
