We usually buy a 5 litre bottle of water from a supermarket for about 1, and when the water is used up, we just refill it for the rest of the trip and then it goes in the recycling at the end of the trip.

Us too

And us.

If you really want to have a decent and stable water container then there's a 29 litre Aquaroll with tap option (as opposed to the 40 litre version, as used by caravanners for decades).
