Just seen this advertised on TV, and I like it.

Not cheap, however, for that price, it comes with a basket, a steamer insert, a glass lid with steam vent, and a removable handle.

It works on all hobs including induction, and is deep enough as a roasting pan in the oven or for grilling.

I would have been very tempted to get one, or the Chef Collection with additional 24cm casserole, 24cm sauté pan, 28cm grill pan and removable handle.

However, I have already bought a set of Tefal Ingenio cookware and a separate induction-ready 24cm grill pan for my van.

Not sure about the durability of the non-stick surface though, however, it looks good in the promotional materials.

In case anyone is interested for a space-saving pan.

FlavorStone Pan with removable handle

A customer review on Amazon UK suggests that the lid does not fit with the handle in place

A metal basket (or any metal utensil) in a non-stick pan is not a good idea.

"The diamond infused surface is 3 x tougher & offers superior heat conductivity so your food cooks evenly with no hot spots. Doesn't warp! " is marketing guff. Heat distribution and warping would depend on the material the body of the pan is made from not the coating or surface treatment.

Looks like marketing over quality to me.

I'll stick with my 25+ years old, Eastern European origin stainless steel pans, thanks

The pan looks thick enough to minimise warping to me.

In the promo video I saw, the lid was not in place when the metal basket was being used.

Agree with metal and non-stick coating is not a good combination.

The Tefal Ingenio frying pans, woks and sauté pans that I have are non-stick coated, and the parts that come into contact on the detachable handles are metal, and I have the same reservations about it.

However, these pans are a lot less to replace, and widely available.

I would stick with recommending the Tefal Ingenio range and the induction grill pan that I already have.

However, FlavorStone pans are new to the scene, and worth a mention, IMHO.

These pans have been round for some time in one shape or another.

I looked into buying them as a replacement for my 40 year old Le Crueset cast iron ones that I use at home which are still going strong but that am I'm finding harder to use as my arthritis gets worse.

After a lot of digging on real testing and comparison sites, as opposed to reviews on their sales sites, and speaking with friends who'd tried them I found that they get some pretty terrible reviews. As usual reviews are mixed but it seems that they aren't non stick, don't like high heat and don't last long so I decided against them.

Based on my own experience, no non-stick surface lasts forever.

The better ones last longer, yes; however, they too will fail eventually.

Hence I stopped spending over 50 GBP on a single frying pan over 10 years ago, and buy cheaper ones instead.
