Having spent 3 x 1.5 weeks on sites this year, I think I can confirm the following are the 2021 must-haves in the caravanning world :

Brand new caravan, not even a speck of dust in the awning rail

Towed by a Range Rover (Land Rovers are acceptable but frowned on)

Tow car (see above) must have a personalised number plate

Two matching brand new electric bikes (these can be used if needs must, but for maximum effect should be kept in the same position at the front of the van throughout the stay)

Inflatable awning filled with inflatable furniture

The entire unit must be slightly larger than the pitch, so the tow car (see above) has to be placed in full view on the road beside the pitch. The immobile bikes (see above) help with this.

Anyone have anything else to add ?

Range Rover white to match caravan.
Caravan enormous but preferably only 2 people.
Air beam windbreak outside the enormous awning, placed across the end of the awning and caravan, and enclosing an area large enough for the enormous BBQ and 4 recliner chairs (because friends with a similar set up are going to visit); blow up seating must have been inside the awning.
No, I’m not jealous. Couldn’t be doing with all that! But it’s entertaining to see it all being assembled. Wonder how much of it will be for sale next year.

Sorry, but someone driving a Range Rover would never be seen dead with inflatable furniture.

How absolutely beneath them.

Inflatable windbreak,
Biggest gas BBQ you can get,
Toilet chemicals that can be taken to and from disposal point,
Marigolds to be worn when emptying said toilet,
2nd huge TV to go in awning, to play Euros/world cup/F1 to whole campsite in the middle of the night whether they want to hear it or not.
I forgot one, self levelling hydraulics.

All of these are re-entries from last year......

People going on that pole/airbeam is better than airbeam/pole and vice versa, like thats the only thing that defines a tent. (ok its not a caravan)

Bubbles. People just don't know.....

Parents letting their 4 year old kids use the toilets on their own

Actually, to be honest, the main campsite we use most are repeat experienced campers who come back year after year, and there are very few problems.

Oooooh....big face masks on the front of the caravans for driving seem more and more common. I didnt think caravans were at risk of getting covid.

Someone went to great lengths once to tell me that his Coachman had gold taps. I declined the offer to have a look.
But, Rob and Tina, sorry, I'm guilty of the rubber gloves crime.

Bunting, and we are guilty.
Rob wants a flag pole with flying thing on it to keep the flaming birds off the top of the caravan at 5am.

Nothing wrong with that? If you have worked hard why shouldn't you have all the luxuries in life or is this the green eyed monster rearing its head?
BTW the two of us who are married do have a twin axle a couple of years old which has self levelling, a 9 year old 4x4 , inflatable windbreak and on some occasions I have had to park the vehicle in front of the caravan like it is at present. We do NOT have bunting, silly flags flapping in the wind or fairy lights strung across the pitch.
Why shoudl it concern anyone else how you go about enjoying yourself?
