How do you pay for your deposit for the camp site.
Mine has asked for a bank transfer for the sum of 10 euros but my bank wants to charge me £25.00 to do this. is there another way that i can pay.

We had the same fee, but we paid half the price, so it didn't seem that bad in comparison. Will have to do the same in June for the other half as well.

Either way, you'll probably end up having to pay two transaction fees.

Globalwebpay were on here a year or so ago offering their services. Fixed rate, reviews seem good.

Have you looked up the previous, long thread? Last year, or the year before, I made two payments on-line through my bank website. There were charges but not that much - perhaps if you do the transaction yourself rather than asking the bank to do it, it's cheaper? Or it could be that all banks are not the same (plug for the caring, sharing Co-op/Smile!)?

I have booked a site in Spain and they wanted Deposit too.I rang them and they did it through my Credit card, no problem.It was for a bit more but I dont see why that wouldn,t work for you.

I have booked all our sites over the past 3 years by using a cash passport card, which I got from the co-op travel agents. I just load it up and book sites then we take it with us and use it in supermakets, petrol stations and to get euro's out when you are there. It's safer than using cash and also you're not giving your credit card details. On the booking pages you just book the same way as you would with a credit card. You don't have to use this one as there are lots more on the market. Hope this helps.

Our credit card wouldn't go through so I had to pay by bank transfer (coop) which cost a fee. Our deposit was rather more than €10.

We have paid our deposit by credit card. It wasn't something I was initially comfortable with but there were no problems. We also had to pay the balance before we arrived as well for our main site. A huge gamble but it more than paid off.

We have a caxton fx card and I use that for all deposits abroad.

If you want to use your credit card it is a good idea to let the CC company know that you want to do this as they often have an automatic stop on overseas transactions to protect you from fraud.
