I can't find my Alan Rogers or Guide Officiel but they didn't help much last time I tried to remember which campsite this was.

It was South of the Dordogne but not as far as the coast. It was fairly central East to West.

It had a name that was familiar when I found it in the AR/guide officiel so I've read about it on here.
We stayed about 4 years ago for a few nights. We move around a lot when I'm in France and I can't remember where we were before but I know it was S of the Dordogne because I texted a friend to join us and they didn't want to because it would be in the wrong direction for them going home. We might have been able to get to Carcassonne within about an hour of it.

In terms of the campsite - it was rural. It wasn't fancy pants and had a fairly basic pool. No waterslide or anything like that. However I have a vague recollection of it having more stars than I expected - 4 instead of the 3 it seemed worth, something like that.
It had a reception area where you booked in. The bread was collected from a stone hut round the side of that and there was an open area/bar with seating behind the reception. You could turn left or right behind the reception to go to the pitches which were in woodland using trees as dividers not hedging. There were 2 loo blocks which were standard with european toilets. If you turned right at the reception the road had the most enormous hump in it which my car bottomed out on. Left was not a problem.

I can't remember anything else about it. There may have been a small children's play area. There may have been river access but we couldn't find it. It will have had site based bbqs because it was warm there.

Does any of that ring any bells? I can't narrow down the area any more than that because we move around a lot when we're in France.

Don't suppose you did a review of the site on here at the time if you did you would be able to find it from your profile page.

Can you find the text to your friend? If so did you name the campsite or the area you were in?

I will look at Google maps and see if anything springs to mind.

No it's not Le Plo although that does look lovely!

I can't find the text - it was years ago. I doubt I did a review. After 5 weeks camping I usually return to organise the eldest son's birthday party followed by going back to school and work. By the time I get chance to sit I've forgotten where we've been and spend the next summer trying to spot them again in a book!

Portia - is it because you want to go back there? Or are you trying to avoid it? Could is be Camping de la Rigole, at Cammazes?

I'd quite like to go back Val. It might be de la Rigole -that's on my list of possibles but it doesn't look quite right. Our pitch was more amongst the trees than those in the pic and IIRC the pool was on the other side of the road.

Did you take any photos with your mobile or digital camera while you were there? My phone includes an estimated location. Just looking back at some of my photos from 2014 and noticed it. Also with photos saved on my computer from 2014 if I look at (properties and details) it shows the GPS coordinates.

Just a thought.

Nothing helpful photowise sadly. My phone is valve driven and doesn't do anything clever at all. I like to get away from technology when we camp.

That's what I keep trying to remember. We don't normally eat out so that's no help. It was also right at the end of the holiday so it is possible that we bought en route and then didn't need anything other than bread. I can't even remember what we did from the site. Grrr.

Found it by accident/looking at every single campsite in the Alan Rogers I located tidying the spare room.
Camping les 3 cantons at St Antonin Noble Val. The thing I recognise most is the picture of the loo block. How sad is that?
