I've never booked this early before!

But, hopefully, the new W B Yeats ferry will start operating this summer from Dublin ... making the extra miles to Rosslare a big saving for us ...

and ...

The 150 euro discount (due to non-appearance of the W B Y last year), plus the early booking 10% off ... made it really attractive.

Now in the mood ... and it's not even Christmas, yet!

We booked our Plymouth-Roscoff return a while back. We're tied to school holidays and it's nice to get a good cabin and have something to look forwards to as the nights draw in.
No idea where we'll go in France yet.

Still umming and ahing about booking Cork - Santander, it's an expensive boat, even in June. Would really like to go to Cantabria though.

We're heading down to Cantabria/Asturias ... but France on the way, and coming back .. no choice, really, as we store the 'van' in France.

When are you going ? We're likely going in June / July, currently thinking of one of the 2 Potes sites (likely La Viorna) then a coastal site, probably El Helguero or Colombres (as they are the only 2 in the area that accept ACSI into early July) before a few days at Cabuerniga.
Leaning towards El Helguero at the moment for it's location between San Vicente de la Barquera and Santillana del Mar - any thoughts ?

Just noticed El Helguero have changed their dates from last year - ACSI now stops 29/6.

We'll be down late July or August ... probably saunter along to Santiago de Compostela and back ... want to try some sites well along the coast ... the two Potes sites I know well ... haven't used either of the other two, yet ...

Cabuerniga is one of our favourites. Good for Santillana ... as well as Barcena Mayor ...

Irish Ferries have announced that they wont be running a ferry from Rosslare to France. Dublin is the only route now. I hope Stena wont put up their prices now that they have a monopoly on that route.Very disapoointing for us as coming from Kerry, Rosslare was fine. Sad no option to Brittany now, other than the expensive Cork ferry.

Kelper, How did you get the 150 extra, I booked yesterday and got the 10% but not the 150.

Also I am going to post a request on the forum about stopping on route to the Vendee but have you any ideas about campsites between Cherbourg and Nantes in case we need to have an overnight.

Ards Boy - I know someone who booked with Irish Ferries from Dublin to Cherbourg last year and the ferry failed to go into service in time, so they got a 150 euro discount for this year - I believe thats what kelper is referring to.

Tanks again Arthur. I didn't want to miss out on any discount, the fares seem to have increased significantly but still much less than Brittany Ferries.

Yes, that's exactly right, Arthur ... we'd booked from Dublin on the WBY ... but, of course, delivery was delayed ... so we were re-routed on the Oscar from Rosslare ... we were given the 150 E as recompense ... PLUS, when we arrived on board, in our cabin, was a complimentary bottle of wine and a box of chocolates ... a really good customer service touch.

Don't forget ... you can also use Tesco vouchers on Irish Ferries to cut the cost.

Stena are offering a 30 percent discount to loyalty club users at the moment. Have to book by the end of Jan though.
We have made our first stock deliveries to the new boat. Just crew supplies so far. I think IF are making a big mistake cutting Roslaire and so do the hauliers. Surely they should be increasing capacity as it looks like the landbridge route will soon be impractical?
