We are holidaying in September for the first time. Have used Les Epinettes campsite in the past but have twice had problems when our reserved sign placed in good faith by the owner has been removed as someone fancied a better pitch!! We have a large caravan so not easy to hunt around looking for free places. So do i risk it again as it will be 15.9 or look elsewhere. Fancy le bien assise but dont want to pay their 10 euro booking fee for the sake of 1 night has anyone experience of just turning up in mid septemeber. We will have a discount card either camping key feom red pennant or asci card. It will be about 6pm when we arrive on site.
Advice please Sue

Go to Bien Assise, don't bother booking. They are open with ACSI from 1st until 29th Sept. We just turn up, usually lateish, and pay in the morning. Reception is usually open until 7 or 7.30, but the gate is open much later.

Good point . With an ACSI card it's 20 euros - about 18 - but anyone booking with the C&MC would pay 25.36

Thanks for the replies. We will have a camping key europe card which we get free with Red Pennant it looks for the website that it is 22 euro per night if you just turn up without booking. Am I correct or does this not act as a discount card just ID?

Not sure if it fits in with your onward journey, but I would recommend Camping St. Louis at Autingues. 16 on ACSI. Great little site and if you email, she will confirm your pitch and not give it away!

Thanks for all your replies. I had looked at Camping St Louis looks a nice stopover site but a little too far away for the morning crossing at 9 50 as got the dog with us for first time and have been recommended by Tunnel to be there an hour and a half before departure as border crossing checks slow. We are not the best at getting sorted and away in the mornings under pressure!!probably use Guines. Thanks again Sue

The pitches as Camping St Louis are quite tight and you could have problems siting a larger van.

Freedom is a light caravan and an open road.
