Changed my car in November last year. Was due to go to France in August but cancelled due to this bl**dy virus. Just remembered today I didn't get a cert for this car, so just applied for it. Probably won't need it, but pays to be prepared.

Not essential, but don't normally take too long to come.

We had one for the last car, so know its pretty quick. As to not essential, wouldn't trust Macaroon after brexit.

I got a Crit Air sticker for the new Kuga that I had for last years holiday to France, I only kept the car for 3 months, but thought for 4 it would be rude not to get the sticker.

Funny thing is that whilst wandering around a few supermarket car parks, during the three weeks that we were in France last year, I never spotted any other cars with the sticker.

French cars generally only have sticker if they come from an area where it is required. There are large areas where stickers are not compulsory but could be required if the pollution reached a certain level so for the sake of 4 quid you might as well. I stuck my sticker on clear plastic & put it in an old tax disc holder.

In the two years we've lived in France, can't say I've seen a sticker - and the Dordogne gets visitors from nearly every corner of France. Plus we've holidayed on the Ile de Re for the last three summers and that gets loads of holidaymakers from Paris.

Well just for balance, in the car park we regularly used at Golfe Juan in September and at the Leclerc at Vallauris about 90% of the cars we saw had a sticker and if we ever get to go skiing again it is compulsory in the whole Savoie department to have one.

4 well spent I reckon

Ken

None of us can possibly know. We have no idea how old your Motorhome is or what engine it has.

If you really feel you need this certificate you should send in an application with a copy of the registration document - and the authorities in France will send you the sticker for the category your vehicle is in.

The choice of options appears to be private car, light commercial up to 3.5t or truck over 3.5t. I guess debcon wishes to know which of those options they should choose for their motorhome ?
