Brexit and Covid aside, I have been looking at the area around St Jean du gard for next years holiday and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what its like etc. We stayed further north a couple of years ago but thought this area looked nice,
Thanks in advance

We stayed at Anduze three or four years ago - its just down the road.
Its within striking distance of the Tarn Gorges etc, and the Camargue. Good scenery (though not the best in the area,) lovely weather.
Maybe not our best holiday in France ever.

Thanks for your reply Alan , where would you say is the best scenery?, We stayed near Meyrueis a couple of years ago and explored all around the tarn and loved that but thought this area maybe a bit quieter. This year we were over in the haute Alps.. my boys love the rivers and jumping etc.😬

We are retired so might not be looking for the same thing as you. The area we return to over and over is the Drome. Superb weather, good scenery (though not as dramatic as the Alps or Tarn.) All the best bits of Provence without the crowds. Last time we stayed at a lovely site on the river. Here's my review https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=18091
