The weather forecast (Meteo) shows rain and storms all over France for the next few days, but how accurate is it?

We're currently on the south coast, near Spain. The forecast gave high probability of rain yesterday but we actually had less than an hour of it at around 7.00pm.

What's it like where you are, in France?

We’re in Juan les Pins near Nice and it rained most of the day yesterday. Ordinary rain not thundery. It cleared up in the evening and although it’s a bit cloudy this morning normal service seems to have resumed 😀

I look at several forecasts and none agree.
In my opinion, the best one is the “Apple Weather App”
It changes all the time and reflects the fluctuations in weather patterns. We are just north of Nantes just now in full sunshine. Beautiful day. Slowly moving north towards Calais. We had a fortnight virtually of the heatwave in the Vendée. Way too hot for comfort, but now pleasant for walking / cycling. The Nantes to Brest Canal is nearby with nice cycling alongside.

It's currently 30 degrees near Argelès with clear blue skies. We were contemplating a move but think we'll stay here for a while longer with the rest of France looking a bit iffy.

UK forecast never right for France, Meteo as good as any in France.

Or ask a local, they’ll know.

Found Accuweather to be as good as any forecast, coupled with a rain cloud app live radar view that lets me make my own instantaneous judgements.

Been buggered by forecasts too many times to trust them!

Off to Le Mans next Thurs, so the weather there is of particular interest to me!

As pointed out. Hard to forecast more than a day or so ahead. Warm & sunny in central France today. Was supposed to be tipping it down tomorrow but now appears dry. Off to Dordogne tomorrow. Supposed to be a wet weekend but who cares ? Later on in week temps back up to 30s supposedly. Then we will be sitting in the shade.

Take the weather as it comes. We are out on our regulated 90 days so there is bound to be some rain. 6yrs on today & ain’t life so much better ?

Hot and sunny under blue skies in the Dordogne - although around midday it belted it down for an hour - complete with claps of thunder.

Sunday evening we had an almighty storm - thunder, lightening, hail and very strong winds. A new pond appeared in the farmers field next door - about the 4th time in as many years.

Still, it's saved me a couple of hours work watering tubs of flowers for the neighbours while they're on holiday

Much rain in the south-east today? The forecast gives rain all over but it's been warm, sunny and dry here today.

We fancy a change of scenery and had planned to head across to the west coast or perhaps to the Dordogne, but don't fancy going into cool and wet weather so am hoping you'll all report that Meteo is way out...

Just driven up from near Montelimar to Saint Quentin. We left at about 8.30 in grey skies but fair. By the time we got near Lyon it started to throw it down (as heavy as you can imagine) and it continued to do so until just south of Beaune. We then had showers and sun all the way up to Saint Quentin where it has just rained again. Nearly 500 miles of quite the most difficult driving I’ve had in a long time and that after a fortnight of unbroken sunshine down south.

Back home tomorrow to grey skies I presume

Ken
