Has anyone stayed near Honfleur, and is there a site near for touring 'vans?  Perhaps walking or cycling distance from the port. We plan to go, via Portsmouth-Le Havre, and any advice would be helpul.

We stayed at the Le Phare camp site which is 10mins walk to the harbour, it must be the closest to the town, and in June last year it was reasonably adequete for 2-3 nights. Honfleur is very pretty but let down by gross commercislism and high prices I.M.O.    Have a good one.   kiev

Thanks for the info. I will look them up. I have wanted to visit Honfleur for years, but in view of the remarks, may try to go out of their main season. Regards

We did a stopover at La Briquerie last year which is just outside Honfleur.  It was just OK, nothing special.  We would use it again for a stopover but I don't think I would spend my whole hols there.

We had a Friday night stop-over last year in October half-term in Honfleur. We stayed in a local hotel; too chilly for sleeping under canvas! We found the town very picturesque, and the restaurants were delightful. We did not find the prices any different to other parts of France; however, we were out of season. The market on Saturday morning was very colourful, with lots of bargains. We would definitley return for another stopover, but can imagine how busy the place must be in the main season.

Honfleur is one my favorite places in France I have been there a couple of times. We did camp once but sorry cant remember where. think it was a little way away from Honfleur and we travelled to visit it. Its very pretty.

Antibes is another favorite place. Love going there. the market is good too.

We use Le Phare for its proximity to the town centre. Its only a short stroll into town.

It has adequate facilities but It can be a bit noisy on the motorhome pitches next to the road. Try to get one of the pitches screened from the road by trees. Also avoid those furthest away from the entrance in wet weather. The ground can get soft.

Also stayed at La Briquerie but for a week, in Honfleur. It was fine if you dont want the all singing all dancing campsite. Loads to do in the surrounding area, lovely beaches, though not in Honfleur itself, you have to drive. Facilities adequate, but not heated with piped music!!!!!!

We had a great week and would return despite having our car broken into whilst on the beach in Deauville.

WE stayed here to. A quite nice site if you dont mind water rats.!!!!! nice walks.

A really friendly owner coupled with the most basil fawlty like husband. Very nice though, and a friendly site on the whole. Incedently we bumped in to the owners at the NEC show whom recognised us as they were selling their site to potential visitors.

word of warning, if your crossing the enormous honfleur bridge towing a caravan, drive slowly!!!!!
