I know there have been loads of comments etc about this crossing from Dover, but I wanted to reassure any first timers booked this year. We cross the channel for various reasons 1/2 doz times a year for the last 15 years or so...and have never used this service, partly because historically it used to be a bit of a rough service with grotty infrequent boats. However, having read so many good reports we thought we would give it a whirl....well....excellent. Very impressed with the swift checking in and passport control, none queues you get at Calais, even out of season. THe boats were super with plenty of seating etc. The plus I thought was they dont take coaches, so you dont end up with a massively crowded boat.

A1 I would definately recommend them.

I notice on their website that you can buy multiple journey tickets at discounted prices - you pay for say 10 one way crossings then when you want to use them just phone or e mail and make a reservation at no extra cost. - might try it for next time.

i used them 2 years ago, like it was said, easy to get on and off with no big problems. food was ok as well.

I used Norfolk Line on my outward journey last September £75.

 I was unable to book a return due to me not having a return date. I have now tried to book a return ( 2am sailing) 15 April and I was quoted 350 euros!! Caravan Club £170;

This for a single journey.

I have now got a quote of £69 through the caravan Club with P&O from Calais.

Using them again this year - £58 return for a High Season crossing.

Best boats (great panoramic windows), decent food (no smell of chips), no crowds - can't see a down-side.

 We are using them for the first time in June going out and returning in July. I am glad to see all of the good reports. The cost for us is £74 return for a car and caravan, this was the cheapest price around at the time.

 What is it like getting out of Dunkirk and onto the motorways?

We are booked with them for end May £49 return through Caravan Club.  Apparantly Dunquerke is much easier to get out of than Calais.  Its good to hear the boats aren't 'old tubs' - was a bit worried about that!

Getting onto the Autoroute is simple. The docks complex is very small and the single road from the docks takes you straight from the ship to the Autoroute in less than 5 minutes. No going through town or anything.

Always use them - before Xmas did a very tiring (not recommend unless you are used to shift work and nights) shopping/see Xmas markets trip just with car where we crossed at 0400 hrs (UK time) (arrived at dock at 0130 hrs and dozed in the checked in line at dockside and a little on the boat in lounge although apparently I snored in lounge which OH said was embarrassing) before returning at midnight that following evening after going to Eypre in Belgium, Lille and Dunkirk. All for £19 return which was great! Also received a special voucher for Auchan at Dunkirk- don't bother with crowds at Calais if you can help it! Finally got home at around 0500 hrs next morning.
