We have got our caravan insured by E+L and after reading things about them on here I am looking to change!!!!!!. The thing is what do you suggest. We are not members of CC or CCC. So can't insure with them ( have already looked). Thanks in advance..........

Hi Lin,
I was in the same boat as you last October and worked out that even with the annual joining fee for CC it was no more expensive using them to insure my van than it had been with the other company with all their little add ons and their lunar month charging.

Yep I have just joined the CC even though our van is sited just to get the insurance.  It is plain speaking, decent cover and you talk to a human every time!

i joined the cc as i wanted to go to a certain site in Scotland for a weekend. it cost me 34 to join yet being a menber saved me 7 per night on site fees so my money was not long in being recouped. i reckon good value for money as the sites i have been too are exceptionally clean and good size pitches

Hi, We were with E & L ,but after bad reports we changed to MCIA. (Motor Caravan Insurance Assy.)WE were unfortunate to have our caravan damaged last year. (A large branch blew from a tree and dented the side panel). We had no problem / hastle and our caravan was profensionaly repaired by our dealer.

They are not the cheapest, but what price is no hastle if you need to make a claim!

We have decided to join the caravan club so that we can use thier insurance. To be honest the whole lot worked out cheaper than E+L. Thanks for all the replies

The most attractive thing I found about the CC insurance is that they don't want more than one acceptable security device in place in a storage setup, unlike the C&CC which requires multi security devices. I'm a member of both clubs but insure with the CC.

Cheapest is not always the best, read the small print and ensure like for like.
