|Employer's Name: Sykeside Camping Park||Location: Cumbria|
Warden/couple required for family-run campsite in the Lake District.
In the heart of the Dovedale Valley, surrounded by Dove Crag, Hart Crag and Fairfield with Brotherswater nearby, Sykeside Camping Park is an inspiring location for camping, offering stunning views wherever you pitch.
Duties would include:
- General keeping watch over the campsite
- Cleaning the toilet and shower block between 12noon-2pm
- Cleaning the bunkhouses and yurts as required
- Helping guests to pitch tents in bad weather (or sometimes good weather too!)
- Patrolling the site after 11pm
- Reading and checking tent tags
- Helping pitch touring caravans
- Occasional grass cutting and ground works
- General maintenance, DIY and repairs
The role would suit a couple as we do currently have a vacancy for a housekeeper too, cleaning 30 to 40 hours per week.
The site has 26 hardstanding pitches for campervans, caravans or motorhomes, up to 100 tent pitches, a 36-bed bunkhouse, a traditional country inn with bed and breakfast rooms and two furnished yurts. The site facilities include male and female toilet and shower blocks, a laundry area and pot washing area, as well as a galley kitchen for exclusive use of bunkhouse residents.
Vacancies until at least the end of October, but as we are open all year we could extend the jobs to include the winter months. Hours would average 40 per week over 5 days Friday through to Tuesday inclusive, salary for warden £16,300.00 per annum, housekeeper paid hourly at minimum wage.
A pitch with hook up for a motorhome or caravan can be provided or alternatively accommodation and meals are available at a cost of £40.00 per person per week.
Access to a car would be an advantage as we are a rural site. The site is located on the Kirkstone Pass; the nearest village is Patterdale 3 miles away, or the nearest town is Windermere 12 miles away. Public transport links are poor and there is no mobile phone reception.
