|Employer's Name: Camping and Caravanning Club||Location: Wales|
The Camping and Caravanning Club is a not-for-profit organisation, which means that every penny spent with us is invested back into improving facilities and services for our members.
We have over 100 campsites in our Club network and a further 16 ‘Camping in the forest sites, set in some of the most picturesque locations, nearby to leading tourist destinations across the UK.
We pride ourselves on having friendly campsite managers and excellent facilities.
Our Holiday Site Assistants come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but what's paramount is experience and passion for camping and caravanning, as everything that the Holiday Site Assistants deal with on a day-to-day basis will naturally be camping related.
The Holiday Sites Assistant Role is underpinned by our mission statement which is To provide the best campsites, services and experiences
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Welcoming new and returning customers in a friendly and helpful manner
• To manage bookings over the phone and face to face - ensuring a high level of customer service is always delivered
• To undertake all aspects of site operations including general upkeep of the site, minor repairs, ground care, grass cutting and cleaning of amenities including toilet blocks
• Assist in the running of the site office and performing administration duties
To be considered as a Site Assistant, you must have:
• Your own caravan or motorhome, in order to live on site
• The flexibility to work anywhere in the UK
• A strong customer focus, with proven experience in providing excellent customer service
• Confidence in using Microsoft packages and using computers in general
The job can be extremely rewarding for the right candidates despite the work being physically demanding. We think it will appeal to those who enjoy working outdoors
The job is seasonal, typically from April (or May) - September
Staff membership is provided to all employees from day one of employment, so applicants are not required to be an existing Club member. However, previous experience in a customer-facing role, together with administration and organisation skills is essential. The role is also physically demanding as successful candidates will need to ensure that site facilities, services and products are operational and maintained to a high standard, so a basic knowledge of DIY and some practical abilities are undoubted assets. However initial and ongoing training is provided in all aspects of the work as well as the safe usage of all equipment.
Successful candidates are expected to provide their own accommodation in the form of a caravan or motorhome. Successful candidates will be offered a pitch, complete with an electric hook-up point, free of charge for the period of their contract, including some setting up time prior to the first day of employment.
One of the things we ask is that people are able to work at Sites all over the UK. It’s not unusual to be asked to move site at short notice for operational reasons and therefore this job requirement makes it difficult if candidates are tied to specific areas for reasons such as children’s schooling. The nature of the work involves varied hours and could be based anywhere around the UK, so this is something that candidates should consider before applying.
The first stage of the recruitment process will be to complete an application form. If you apply as a couple, both of you will be required to complete a separate form. Your application will be considered and if you are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an online interview with members of our Recruitment and Operational teams
