We are a family run farm, with a 2.5 acre level camping field in an idylic location, with very easy access, but very rural with spectacular views of the Mendip Hills AONB. There are footpaths on the farm leading to Crook Peak, Wavering Down and also to Cheddar reservoir and onto the StrawberryLine and MendipWay footpaths/cycleways.
We have fishing on the River Axe that runs through the farm, which is also suitable for canoeing. Next door there is a fishing lake, day tickets available £10. There is a lot of wildlife to see around the campsite, with regular sightings of deer, badgers, foxes, rabbits, otters and ornithologists will have many wild species, including some rare raptors to spot.
Within a five minute walk are 3 good pubs, a BP garage (with LPG vehicle fuel point) and a shop for groceries, LPG, calor gas.
The campsite has a separate toilet block with ladies x 2 and gents x 2 and hot showers on site.
10 electric hook up points. Hardstanding.
We are happy for you to have camp fires (firewood, logs and firebaskets available to hire on site) and BBQs, raised off the ground.
Excellent canoeing/kayaking on the River Axe, very easy launching from field adjacent to campsite (despite what Joanne and 'marinegreen' may have said in her review, she was afraid of a few sheep!) And wild swimming in the river, shallow at the edges, 6 foot deep in middle. (see the photos).
Well behaved dogs welcome. Dedicated dog walking field.
This site operates a no noise policy between 10pm & 7am.
Sorry no groups except small family groups
