"By the county town which shares its name"
On the outskirts of the county town, our Club Site is a great base for exploring the local countryside - or you can take the train for a day out in London. The town of Hertford - with a museum, good shopping facilities and a variety of places to eat - is less than a mile away, while Hartham Common, just a few minutes walk from the town centre, offers many recreational facilities. Hatfield House, Garden and Park, a Jacobean house rich in paintings, furniture and tapestries, and with 1,000 acres of park with woodland trails, also makes for a great day out. There are a variety of other stately homes and attractions within an easy drive, including Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House and Waltham Abbey - which includes a 12th century church and Art Nouveau Town Hall - or you can take the train into London from Hertford East, which is a 20-minute walk from site.
