Description

Opening Dates: 01/02 To 02/01

Camp on the shores of Lake Windermere and explore the southern lakes from this site.

This campsite was previously named Braithwaite Fold and has been changed to Bowness on Windermere.

Beautifully positioned half-way down the eastern shore of Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, our Club Site is only a few minutes walk from the Victorian tourist resort after which it is named.

An ideal centre for exploring the walking paradise of the southern Lakes, you can enjoy the many attractions of the lake itself from here, including its steamers, launches and watersports facilities, from dinghy sailing to powerboating. A chain ferry operates across to the western side of the lake, taking you towards the pretty village of Hawkshead and Hill Top, Beatrix Potters former home.

At the southern edge of the lake is the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway and the Lakes Aquarium, while much of the surrounding countryside is protected by the National Trust.

Due to site restrictions only one car per pitch is allowed at any time and no boats are allowed on trailers. Drive-away awnings cannot be accommodated on most pitches - please contact site. All service pitches are hardstanding and rock pegs required. Poor TV reception
