Description
Pitches: 65
Opening Dates this year: 01/03/2021 to 03/11/2021
COVID 19 Following the announcement by the government, our site will re-open on Monday 6th July in a phased way. We have made the decision to keep our toilet and shower facilities closed for the time being, therefore, we are unable to accommodate tents at this moment in time. This is to safeguard both our customers and ourselves. We are treading very carefully over the forthcoming weeks to see what happens in the country with regard to Covid 19.
Sorry No Dogs
Swallowholme Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the edge of the village of Bamford in the Hope Valley within the Peak District National Park. The site is within walking distance of Bamford Station and the River Derwent runs alongside the site. Hathersage is only five minutes away by car where there is an outdoor heated swimming pool.
Under new ownership since 2010, this small, family run site has a refurbished shower & toilet block,a washing up area & laundry sink. In addition to the seasonal caravan pitches, we cater for a small number of touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. We have grass pitches with electric hook-up. As we are only a small site we are unable to accommodate large tents in excess of 5m x 3.5m.
The site is fairly flat and local amenities are close by including a 24 hour mini-market. A Public House, The Angler's Rest, The Rest Cafe & Post Office. Recreation Ground with childrens play area are a short walk from the site. Sickleholome Golf Course is only 100 yards across the road. There are two garden centres with cafes within walking distance of the site. Bus stops are close by for buses to Hathersage, Hope and Castleton whilst Edale can be reached by train from Bamford.
The River Derwent runs past the site. Trout and grayling fishing is permitted with a current licence. The site has plenty of wildlife including ducks, weasels, rabbits, owls, pheasants and many other species of wild birds. Swallowholme is a great site to use as a walking base.
Sorry but dogs are not allowed on site.
