Cuckoo Fen campsite welcomes tents and smaller campervans only.
The site is about 3 acres and includes open pasture and a small, peaceful wooded area providing welcome shelter during hot summer days. We allow up to 20 pitches which are let on a 'home is where you pitch it' basis - the only rule being that tents are spaced 6 metres apart.
Electricity isn't provided on pitches, but facilities are lit by low level solar lighting. Facilities include hot showers, composting toilets and washing up sink.
Cuckoo Fen campsite is a stone's throw from the stunning RSPB Ouse Fen reserve - the largest reed bed creation project in the UK.
The campsite offers a back to basics experience, with an emphasis on planet friendly relaxation and enjoyment of the outdoors.
Whilst at Cuckoo Fen you can enjoy nature at large including our visiting badgers, bitterns on the nearby reserve, songbirds aplenty and passing foxes and deer.
At Cuckoo Fen, electricity isn't provided to pitches, but low lighting is provided for the site facilities. Which include hot shower, washing up station, wash basins and composting toilet.
Nearby Attractions
Cuckoo Fen is less than a mile from the river Great Ouse, where a public slipway is available for launching canoes to explore the local waterways.
The area benefits from many local public footpaths and cycle-ways.
Campers can reach amenities easily with a short walk to to the village of Over where you'll find a local pub and well stocked village shop.
The city of Cambridge is accessible via the guided busway. Cambridge, on the River Cam is a beautiful university city steeped in history.
The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209. The buildings of the university include King's College Chapel, Cavendish Laboratory, and the Cambridge University Library, one of the largest legal deposit libraries in the world.
