It is not just the scenery that is great here either. Just a short walk from Dalegarth Campsite is the village of Boot where you can find a great place to eat, the local shop, and even the Dalegarth Station (terminus for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway) where a trip on the narrow gauge heritage line is a must for railway children of all ages.

Nearby Attractions

Dalesgarth Campsite is set within the picturesque valley of Eskdale.

We are surrounded by tumbling waterfalls, crystal clear wild-swimming pools, quiet walking and cycling trails and the spectacular hills of the Lake District.

For the keen walkers among you there is of course the Lakeland giants of Scafell and Scafell Pike nearby as well as their not so small neighboring hills.

Cyclists are spoilt for choice nearby with a great choice of off-road trails and for the road cyclists the iconic mountain pass (Hardknott) is not too far away.

Down the coast you will find the Railway Museum, a Roman Bathhouse and even a great day out at Muncaster Castle, with its colourful history, fabulous grounds and even some birds of prey.
