Welcome to the Little Welsh Wood, a new eco-campsite situated about three miles from Milford Haven opening for the first time in May 2021. We have idyllic camping pitches and glamping units spread out in gently dappled woodland on the edge of an open meadow, each with its own toilet and shower. We are signed up to the Visit Wales 'We're Good to Go' scheme to help keep you Covid-19 safe during your stay with us.
Little Welsh Wood will appeal to adults and families who want to enjoy the simple pleasures of woodland camping and is perfect for walking and bird-watching (it's simply amazing to watch Red Kite soaring overhead!) or if you're not feeling too energetic, it's just a nice place to sit and relax and get away from hectic everyday life.
Located on what was part of our dairy farm, we have repurposed an old cowshed, silage yard and the small woodland beyond to make our little campsite. This is completely separate from the rest of the farm which is now used for growing vegetables and grazing livestock as well as being the retirement home for the family's old horses and ponies!
We have tried very hard to be eco-conscious with our development so that we can offer you some creature comforts and yet be sustainable and sympathetic to our environment.
Camping
We have seven flat pitches dotted around mature beech trees and behind bushes to give you some privacy. Each pitch has a:
Fire-pit
Picnic table and benches
Covered outdoor area
Toilet and shower for the sole use of your party
Washing up area in the nearby cowshed
Glamping
If you fancy glamping, we can offer a basic, better, best package in the form of a bell tent, a geodesic dome or luxury horsebox conversion known as 'The Retreat'. All you have to do is choose!
What's included:
Bell Tent & Geodome - Both set up for 4 guests, but we can accommodate 6 in each.
Our 5m Bell Tent has a double bed and two single beds with all bed linen provided.
Our 6m Geodome comes with a log burner to keep you toasty (Logs included). It has a king-size bed and two single beds with all bed linen provided. Extra beds can be put up when accommodating 6 guests.
Both glamping units include:
Table, chairs and comfy seating.
Fire-pit and grill, picnic table and covered kitchen area with gas hob, kettle and a coolbox with ice blocks.
We supply all the pots, pans and cutlery that you need. Tea & coffee included.
Toilet and hot shower for your sole use in the nearby cowshed.
Electric hook-up is available at extra cost.
'The Retreat', our converted horse lorry features:
Cosy double bed over the cab.
Fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, fridge-freezer and hot and cold water.
Own bathroom with toilet, sink, heated towel rail and electric shower.
Spacious living and dining area with an electric wood burner.
Patio doors open onto the ramps at the side and rear, one of which has become raised decking and is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
Outside there is a fire-pit and grill.
Nearby Attractions
Located in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with the spectacular coast path nearby, Little Welsh Wood is ideal for visiting the many sandy beaches around St Brides Bay, the National Nature Reserve of Skomer Island and the 'hidden waterway' of the Daugleddau estuary. Whether it's coast or countryside this magical county has so many delights for you to discover.
