A warm welcome awaits you at Acorn Camping & Caravan Site.
We are a small peaceful family owned rural site, situated on the Heritage Coast, 1 mile from Llantwit Major and the beach.
The four and a half acre site is surrounded by farmland; we have 78 pitches and can accommodate Touring Caravans, Motor Homes and Tents. We also have 8 all weather gravel hardstandings available for caravans or motorhomes.
There is a small shop onsite, stocking all the essentials, along with snacks, drinks & ice creams. There is also a children's play park and a cafe here at Acorn.
The cosy Acorn cafe serves breakfasts, light lunches, coffee and cakes, 5 days a week.
We have a play park on site with a lovely wooden climbing frame, monkey bars a slide and swings. There are a number of small bikes and push cars, along with a few small slides and seesaws for all the children to use during their stay. The Play Park open till dusk daily.
We have a large shower and amenities block on site. There are separate areas for Ladies & Gents, with individual toilet stalls and shower cubicles in each section. There is also a family room and a disabled access room available. In the block there is also a token operated washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is a large washing up area with an ironing board & iron available.
Don't fancy camping: we have 5 GoodyHoo Glamping Pods available; 3 are Family sized & sleep a maximum of 2 adults plus 2 children, the other 2 are suitable for a couples retreat. They all have tea/ coffee making facilities & a 2 ring camping gas cooker. They are located approx. 10 metres away from the main Shower & Toilet facilities and all bedding & towels are provided.
Or if you really want an upgrade why not book the Acorn Lodge; The Acorn Lodge is a beautiful bespoke self catering lodge that is available to hire for the weekend or longer.
It can accommodate up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, one double bedroom and bedroom with bunk beds.
The open plan living kitchen area has everything you need with a built in cooker and fridge or relax in the living room area on a comfy sofa. The Lodge french doors open up onto a large decking area with seating & a BBQ for your use.
Everything you need to make your stay a pleasant and relaxing one.
Nearby Attractions
The nearest beach is Cwm Colhuw, and it is about a 20 minute walk from Acorn Campsite. This beach is a mainly rocky beach with sandy sections, a fantastic beach for Rock Pooling and Sand Castle building. It has dog friendly areas and dog ban areas during summer months. We also have Ogmore, Barry Island & Southerndown Beaches all within a short drive.
Why not visit a Castle! Caerphilly Castle (2nd largest Castle in Europe) is a short driveaway as is Cardiff Castle. It is located in the heart of the Welsh Capital so that the princesses could go shopping! Alternatively you can visit Fonmon Castle; A Fantastic Family Fun Day Out. There you will find Dinosaurs, Dragons, Fairies, Mediaeval & Woodland Adventures.

Owner Directions
From the East: Leave the M4 at Junction 33 and follow for Cardiff International Airport. Drive past the airport and at the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Llanmaes Rd.
From the West: Leave the M4 at Junction 35 and follow the A473 towards Bridgend and then turn left on the A48. Turn right at Pentre Meyrick towards Llantwit Major on the B4268/70. Take a left at the first roundabout on the B4268 and then straight across the mini roundabout. At the traffic lights, take a right onto Llanmaes Rd.
From Llanmaes Rd: Go under the railway bridge and left at the first mini roundabout and another left at the second mini roundabout. Take a right onto Ham Lane East. Follow this road past the school and over the speed bumps until you get to a sharp right turn. On this bend turn left immediately into Ham Manor Park. Drive through this park following our signs, past the wooden chalets on the right and the farm buildings. We are then at the top of the road on the left.
