Wheal Rose offers a relaxed Cornish holiday base perfect for exploring Cornwall. Under new owners since 2019 this family-friendly park has great access off the A30 and is within easy day trip distance of most towns, resorts and attractions on the north and south Cornish coasts. Also just a short drive from the stunning beaches at Porthtowan, Portreath and Perranporth.
The campsite is directly on the Portreath to Devoran Coast to Coast path, and is part of the Mineral Tramway Trails which are a unique network of traffic free trails exploring the historic mining region in the heart of Cornwall. Fantastic for walkers and cyclists of all ages and abilities, you can cycle the trail to the beach at Portreath in less than 20 minutes and for the more adventurous hop onto the interconnecting Wheal Busy Loop and Tolgus Trail. A short drive away are the enchanting Tehidy woods, perfect for dog walkers and children to explore.
For younger guests there is a childrens play area and a small outdoor pool which is open in July and August.
Relax in the evening and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and night sky, whilst the children are free to play and make new friends.
Nestled in a valley, the grass pitches are all a generous size, level and sheltered. There is a range of sizes available and all have electric hook ups. There are two great value static caravans available too which include all the benefits of the park and are fantastic for holidays on a budget.
The new owners take pride in the clean and friendly atmosphere of their park, and the recently refurbished facilities include heated toilet blocks with free hot showers, a dedicated wet suit wash and separate dog wash, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and a washing-up room.
The small site shop is open daily during and is stocked with a range of basic essential groceries and gas bottles. Should you need more substantial supplies, a bakery, farm shop and supermarkets are within a short minutes drive.
