We are situated at the waterfront in Skeld on the west side of Shetland. We are a safe, friendly and quiet place to stay. The marina is a beautiful setting and we hope to build a boat museum, cafe and visitor centre. A new purpose built amenity building was opened in 2009. there is a kitchen area with washing up facilities, fridge, microwave, dishes, table and chairs. information leaflets, brochures etc. Showers, toilets, laundry room with washing machine, separate dryer, outside drying facilities, iron, hairdryer, library, and games. Wi-fi on site, Chemical toilet disposal. There is a local cheese factory with cafe and small shop, within 5 minutes walk. The gas truck comes every week to the area. We have picnic tables on site and when I can, I help with any supplies, gas exchange etc. We have an excellent well kept sheltered flat grassy area for campers 23 metres x 50 metres, and a choice of two hardstanding areas for caravans and campervans. One area borders the grassy area and the other has beautiful views overlooking the harbour and marina The area is lit at night. There are play areas at the school and at the playpark all within a five minute walk. You can also buy fresh shellfish from the local fishermen at the pier when landing. You can spot birds and seals from the shore We have sightings of otters around the marina and waterfront. Local bus service daily. Caravan and motorhome charges are £15.00 per night. Tents £8 - £10 for ex large tent.
