The Wardens were very polite and helpful. The toilet and shower block were kept very clean at all times and the water was always hot for showers. We had a hardstanding pitch which was a very good size. Plenty of room for van, awning and wind break.

The facilities for children (ours are now grown up) is very good and the dog walk is great. We loved walking in the Century Wood and listening to all the different type of birds singing.

The Kennatt and Avon canal is also a lovely place for walking. We visited Salisbury which is a lovely city and we recommend a visit to Bradford on Avon. Park in the station car park and walk out at the end of the car park (not the town end) and you will be on the banks of the river Avon. Take a left once you have reached the river to the old Tythe Barn. It`s a beautiful area.

We will be returning to this site next year and we are already looking forward to it.

Arrived Fri of bank holiday in glorious sunshine to the most friendly staff we have come across at C & CC sites. Site very clean and site for tent was very spacious. We had hook up and friends of ours who did not have electric were put opposite us.

Lovely area to walk especially along the tow path of the Kennet and Avon. But beware inconsiderate speeding cyclists!

Visited Avebury, Devizes and Silbury. Had a nice meal in the 3 Magpies next door, but spent most evenings chilling on site with a BBQ and wine!

Nice play area for the children and a large field for them to play ball games.

Only disadvantage. Our tent was very near to the toilet block and outside lights were very bright all night. Site full as half term so had to queue for a shower but we chose to go in half term!

Will definitely go back.

A lovely location with the benefit of being very near the Kennet and avon canal. The site was well laid out with the toilet and shower block in the middle of the site.

The toilets and showers were keep spotless and always had plenty of soap and toilet paper. The conversation walk and play areas were not signposted meaning you had to ask or try and discover them yourselves. The shop did not have much selection, mainly milk, eggs and raincoats !

The staff were disappointing after showing us to our pitch left before telling us about the location of drinking water and waste water points or hook up points. Other campers soon pointed us in the right direction. Seemed to have different rules for campers concerning pitching awnings on the grass depending I guess if your face fitted.

Over all not a bad site but I will not be returning.

We have a brilliant weekend on this site with my sister. We were on hardstanding and my sister on the grass next to us. Plenty of space between pitches and love the privacy hedges. Electric hook up and lovely clean facilities. Walked along the canal to Devizes, via Caan Hill Flight, not that long a walk and fairly easy going.

We found the site Managers friendly and site kept very well, would recommend and will definitely go back. We had two 12 year old boys with us who found the park and playing field good fun. Nice dog walking area.

Lovely to be close to the canal.

Visited this site in May and having read all the recent reviews since agree with how friendly staff were, well laid out the site is, clean the toilets are and well situated the site is.
However no one else has mentioned the third pub within walking distance which is just up the lane from the Barge Inn and advertises itself as a traditional English Cider House. It is a locals pub but we were made to feel very welcome by both the landlord and the customers alike.
Will definitely go back to this site as we enjoyed the cycling, walking and our visits to the Cider House.

Booked 7 nights stayed 9 in September. Great toilet and shower facilities in fact the showers are better than we have at home. Lovely quiet site even though it was quite full all the time we were there.
There are two A roads close to the site but are not at all intrusive. Close to Devizes (you can walk along the canal) approx 3-4 miles and return on the bus. Salisbury is not too far away. Plenty of interesting places nearby. Would we visit again? We certainly would
