The toilets and showers were always spotlessly clean. Lovely big area for children to play safely. Brilliant position for sightseeing in Yorkshire, not far from York. Very reasonably priced for such a great campsite - will visit again.

Just returned after spending the week at this lovely site, toilet's and shower block really clean and well looked after, plenty for the kids to do as well as the adults (had a few game's of boules on the pitch they have supplied) would use this camp again as it is near to the lovely little village of pocklington, plus near enough to Bridlington, York and Scarborough and Monkscross shopping centre for the lady's!!
AA++ to the owners, thanks to them for a lovely site

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minuite of it. The owner is very friendly and helpul, we asked for a specific pitch and he was most helpfl.
South Lea has got the cleanest and nicest toilets I`ve ever seen. The pitches are very level and spacious. There`s a great playing field for the kids and a great sense of space all around noones crammed in. Prices are very good it was 12 a night including ehu. Pocklington is a 5 min drive away with lots of pubs, we ate in I think the name was the Three Horseshoes and the food was fab and good prices 7.50 for a 16oz T bone, husband said it was great. We also tried the Yorkway motel a 2 min walk from the campsite, we weren`t impressed, they weren`t very child friendly and not very welcoming.

We had a great stay at South Lea and look forward to visiting again.

Just back from spending 4 days here. The owners John & Christine are really helpful and welcoming. The campsite is kept lovely and clean and is extremely flat which is perfect. The toilet and shower block are immaculately clean. There was a problem with the shower/toilets when we first got there and the owners opened up their own home for campers to use their facilities.

Really went out of their way to help and were constantly apologising for the facilities being out of order which was out of their control as a tree root had blocked the waste pipe.

Pocklington centre is a two minute car ride away and there is a market there on Tuesdays. Bridlington and York are around half an hour away. Really great campsite - we will be going back again.

First class site would be happy to recommend to couples, singles and families that are looking for a quiet site with excellent toilet/shower facilities. Level site with lots of open space and a huge dog walk where dogs may be off the lead if under control.

Short drive into the market town of Pocklington which has wide range of shops, restaurants and take away. Surrounding area very scenic with great walking. Local attractions include Castle Howard and Yorkshire Lavender - both worth a visit. Also handy for York (park n ride available) and coast

This is a lovely site, and not at all expensive, it cost 10 per tent (inc 2 adults) per night and quid a kid on top. All showers and washing up water etc free!! the toilets and showers were spotless and it seemed as if someone had spent a few minutes thinking about how to make these facilities more convienent for campers eg there were hooks on the back of the shower doors and by the sinks and not just one useless hook either, there were lots, so you actually had somewhere to hang your clothes and your towel!!
The owners even offer a free return lift from the nearby pub the Ship Inn.

The owners of this site make an effort to make you feel welcome and your stay enjoyable and it shows.

I stayed here 4 times in 2004 for weekends. Without doubt the flattest site I have ever stayed on. Well organised numbered pitches, good grass, kids play area (why dont they use it I ask?) and definitely, absolutely definitely, the BEST loo block EVER. Small admittedly, but perfectly kept and FREE showers with loads of hot water.
No shop (that's fine by me) but the small town of Pocklington is only a mile away. Excellent pubs within a mile or two doing superb (I mean superb)food.
Very highly recommended.
I like sites priced "per person" as we sometimes take several small tents.
Do try this site.

The site is small with flat pitches that are well kept, a large playing field with swings etc. and a large maintained dog walk. There is also a rally field which is where we were pitched. You have more room per pitch on the rally field but electric is not available on this area. The whole toilet block looked as new and was spotlessly clean. Showers were hot all day.

There is no shop on the site but the owner will get papers and milk for you if ordered the night before.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone who like a quiet site.

P.s. there is a pub just around the corner!!!

We found this site superb for those who like ourselves want peace and quiet. The showers and toilets were spotless and clean, the site also was immaculate.
There are no on site shops, but is located near to local shops and stores, pubs etc. The is a large play area which our children enjoyed and a dog walking area.
We found this site excellent for getting out and about to all the towns and attractions.
We couldn't of picked a better place...we really enjoyed it and we will be going back!

Great small and friendly site, toilet facilities where spotlessly clean and like new. There is plenty of space around the pitches and a small field for the kids to play in. There is also a seperate field for dogs to play in. We spent a lovely weekend there and could not fault the site, the only draw back is the noise from the main road which is only 300yrds away. Having said that the noise is not that bad, you only notice it late evening and in the morning.
