Excellent site set in two half's grassed area on one side of the road and hardstanding on the other side. The road is not a main road its the road what leads down to Nene Valley Counrty Park which is brill for walking the dog, cycling watersports etc. Toilet/shower facilities are very clean, warm and well looked after and as my wife pointed out hot water all the time. As we went in march the grassed site was closed so we stayed on the hardstanding site which was set out in different areas, it was very clean and maintained with lots of water/waste and bin points all around the site.
When we checked in they were pleasant and told us to pick our own pitch (not a good idea I wanted that one my wife wanted the other one did a few laps of the site before we settled on one.) and just let them know which pitch your on and they gave us the keys for the security barrier . Not much for kids on the hardstanding site but Nene valley park has got a big play area and a miniture railway line 5 min walk Nene valley railway runs along side of the site which my daughter loved all the trains. We went on a diesel weekend so it got a bit noisy at times. There is a station 5 mins from the site which will take you into Peterbourgh by steam and there is a beefeater pub at the end of the road which will take you 10/15 mins to walk along the road/woods if you want a drink. We had a 3 course meal one night and it was excellent little pricey but worth it. All in all a brill site will be going back in summer as it rained all 3 days in march.

Site is in 2 halves, separated by the road to the country park. Reception is to the left of the road, as are the hardstanding pitches. Grass pitches are to the right of the road. Not a regimented site, divided off into smaller areas. Also has a rally field.
As we went in January, they were only using the hardstanding section of the site, and offered guidance as to which pitches to avoid because they flooded if it rained too much!
Fortunately it only rained one evening while we were there although it was pretty windy. Days were lovely and bright which gave us the opportunity to make the most of cycling round the lakes and walking some of the local area. Cycles tracks are good quality and wide enough for trikes if that is relevant to you.
Nene Valley railway seems to run each Sunday in winter, although it may be only diesels. £10.50 for a Rover ticket, don't know how much a return to Peterborough would have been. Site has directions to the nearest bus stop if you want to get into Peterborough that way. Village centre shops are within walking distance, although there are no shops in the immediate vicinity of the site.
Beefeater at the end of the road was having a bad day when we went. Lights went out before we got our food (did come back on!), prawn cocktail arrived without the advertised bread, vegetables supplied were not those ordered and the waitress was very off-hand about it. Steak was beautifully cooked though.
Also a garden centre at the end of the road which has a cafe as well.
Thouroughly enjoyed out visit to Ferry Meadows and going back next month!

Absolutely great site. Loads for the kids to do nearby and also central for lots of East Anglia attractions. Very spacious pitches and spotless facilities. The only downside is the distance to the nearest supermarket which takes about 10-15 mins by car

Cant agree more with other reviews, great site great surroundings, plenty to do and see. We paid for our kids to have a day sampling different water sports and they thoroughly enjoyed it, good value too. Be prepared for the local rabbits and Squirrels, Dog walking in the park is second to none the only down side was one of our dogs being driven mad by the cheek of some of the rabbits who clearly fear nothing. He was so astounded he didn't know what to do next. Good sized pitches, with electrics just as you would expect from a top Caravan Club Site. Toilets spotless. The only down side is in hot weather you get a lot of insects that bite in the evenings be prepared and get some insect repellent. We have been twice and I think I prefer the hard standing area as the field areas held a lot of water for a long time after heavy rain. Would recommend this site.

Brilliant site for kids! The site is divided into two - grass pitches are on the other side of the road from the main (reception) entrance, and these are really the family pitches - a large central play area would put off those without kids anyway! The play area is great, and there are lots of pitches from which to watch your little ones without having to stand over them constantly. The country park is great for walks, more and very good playgrounds, bike rides, lovely big fields for flying kites, and of course the steam railway is a must - a stop just yards from the site entrance, and the train goes right into Peterborough. The usual high standard of washing / washing-up facilities from a caravan club. A winner of a site.

This was a real surprise, as the site description does not do it justice. The site is at the heart of Ferry Meadows Country Park which offers fun & relaxation for all ages. There are endless walks in a well kept, clean environment. The water sports offer good value for money and safety equipment is at hand for all users. Cycle paths are 'car free' & a great way to explore the countryside. The site is on both sides of the main entrance into the Country Park, with key security barriers in operation for campers. The shower & toilet blocks are up to the usual high standard of the Club.

I'd heard great things about this site, so off we went. The site itself is spotlessly clean, great showers, and washing up facilities. For those with children, they also have a parent and baby room, if my husband had remembered the number, would have been able to review that ! Great facilities, out of the campsite, and you are in the middle of Nene Country Park, about 500 acres (I think). Great little steam train for the kids (large and small) to ride on, which takes you from one end to the other. Anybody interested in sailing can hire laser boats. All round a fantastic site. If I had to say one negative thing, it would be that the tent field is a bit on the small side. Well worth another visit, we will return.

Wow, what a place, I'd heard that it was lovely, how true. Fantastic, just wish we had longer there, will definitely be going back, and for longer this time. One down side, is that the tent field is very small, we have a Hertford XXL, so tent pretty big. The site itself is lovely, spotlessly clean wherever you go. The site is set in the acres of Nene Park, great place to go, sailing available, little steam train rides through the park, loads of open spaces, and great lakes. The caravan park is next to the Nene Valley Railway, so get prepared for the whistles of the steam train. You really must go to this site. If you have kids (we have a nearly four year old and a 15 month old) believe me, they will love it.

One of the best Caravan club sites I have been to.Just returned from a lovely couple of days. Pitches comprise of wide gravel hardstandings or if you wish there are grass pitches in the other half of the site. The site is well maintained up to the usual caravan club standards. The site is a short distnce from Nene Valley Park, cycle paths run all around the park and into Peterborough. I would suggest if you like walking & cycling, pick up the Peterborough brochure at reception, well worth the £1.50, gives all the cycle paths in the area with places of interest & shops. If you feel energetic its a 50 minute walk from the site into Peterborough (the Nene Valley steam railway, which has a station near the site, wasn't operating due to seasonal timetable). Great site for children & adults. Easy to find off the A1

A great site clean and tidy, ideal for riding bikes, pleanty of room for kids to play and a nice play area,we found several more play areas as we wondered around ferry meadows lakes kids enjoyed finding each one as we went along, couple of places to eat around the park at reasonable prices, also pub and garden centre at the opposite end of the road. Toilet facilities spotless but you may need to que for a shower in the morning if not up early enough to get in first! would highly recomend this site, and going again this weekend and have booked again for many more week ends. Have already been 6 times so must be good!
