Having just returned from our first ever camping trip we were slightly disappointed with this Camping and Caravan official site. The site was extremely wet and much of the grass was waterlogged. The distance to the nearest town was only drivable and not walkable.

Facilities were adequate but only if you like a really quiet site. Would not recommend for children as I believe they would be bored. The surrounding area is fine for sightseeing and day trips but you definitely need a car. I would not rush back to this site although the manager's were helpful and polite.

Visited this site after a period of heavy rain and some of the pitches were waterlogged and some of them were ok. The campsite manager tries to put you where its driest but obviously if the site is busy and you are late then it's worth having a look to make sure it's acceptable. It's not really a drainage problem (a lot of the surrounding area was the same) just that there'd been a lot of rain!

This is a very quiet site and although there were a few children the majority of campers were just couples. There is a children's play area though but as we don't have any children then I can't really comment on it.

The camp is run by a couple who are very friendly and (quite rightly in my view) they don't stand any nonsense, making a noise after 11pm is not on.

The camp shop just stocks the basics and the nearest 'real' shops are in Rothes (about 8 mins away by car).

The toilets and washing facilities are clean and there is a laundy and washing-up facilities as well.

All-in-all quite a pleasant site and worth a visit and we'll be going back, although I'll keep my eye on the weather!

A poor quality site by Camping and Caravanning Club Standards.

Facilities are reasonably clean but however are in drastic need of refurbishment.

The bottom end of the site gets very wet.

Reception adequate.

Situated in a beautiful scenic area, however this site does not do justice to it.

Campsite is a few miles in each direction to any shops/pubs despite having a whisky distillery next door (Macallan). Site was smaller than expected and unfortunately as we could only get grass standing it was extremely water logged due to the bad weather. Toilet block was very clean and there was washing facilities on site. The dog walk however seemed to be very neglicted and nearly impossible due to the length of the grass to walk your dogs easily. I would not return to this campsite as the facilities were very minimal and it could definitely do with a onsite shop due to locality. However the local people in Archiestown, Aberlour and Duff town were extremely friendly and helpful as well as the site manager.

Arrived early and shown several pitches, which due to a rather wet August, were a bit water logged.

Shown what was probably the best pitch for our tent, although it did slope in 2 directions. We soon got used to life on a slant.

We were directly opposite the small playground, which allowed our 3 year old the freedom to go off by herself but meant we were always able to keep a close eye on her.

The shower / toilet block was always clean and always had hot water. Washing up area was good too.

One thing that we thought was a nice touch, was the tourist information area next to the washing up area.

Really nice idea and very helpful as also contained menus for local restaurants and take away, great for when you need a change from tinned food!

Aberlour is only 10 min drive away and has a nice playground, well stocked Co-op for all your essentials, nice walks by the river and we can recommend 'Fresh' for meals. The 'Speyside Deli' is worth a look too.

We will be back, but with plenty midge repellent!
