Just come back from a last minute weekend at this idyllic campsite. What a great find! The weather was fantastic and the scenery beautiful.

Ken, Angela and john could not have been more friendly and helpful. They really make you feel at home.

Our children loved running around the field and watching the swans and their signets roam the site. Only a handful of other caravans and tents there, so lots of space.

We really look forward to visiting again very soon and definitely recommend woodside lodges.

Lovely site in a beautiful location. Very friendly welcome after some very wet weather & we were offered a choice of pitches, including tarmac nearer friends using the dormitory accommodation. We chose to pitch in the lower field, below the road & with a great view of the fishing lake, fields & hills into the distance.

Very clean facilities with hot water to shower & wash up (1 shower, 2 loos in the ladies, 1 shower, 1 loo, 1 urinal in the gents). If the site was busier you may need to wait for the facilities, but there are additional facilities at the dorms. & top camping field - might just have to get up early.

Trumpet Inn at Trumpet served lovely food - steak & ale pie fabulous, and good service, also Sitara Indian in Ledbury very good.

If you are planning on doing walks with a dog, be prepared to carry them over lots of stiles - all were wired up with no room under or round, but lots of lovely countryside to walk in - the apple blossom was beautiful!

Friend stayed in the dorms. Which were enormous, clean & warm with a useful area to cook in (toaster, microwave, kettle, 2 ring hob)

A great site & hope to return.

We were searching for a last minute bank holiday pitch and found that the Woodside lodges had a pitch available.

At the time of booking we were told that this is a tranquil place, however you will have to expect a bit more noise and activity because of the bank holiday and they could squeeze us in, we were under no illusion it was not going to be very busy and a little more noisy so we carried on and booked.

On the day of arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner and were rather amazed to see plenty of space available and settled in the “rally field” this was away from the lodges and main camping area that felt a little like camping out on someone’s front lawn.

The grass was mown to a nice level, with patches of wild flowers, the pitches were either even or slightly sloping to a hedge, the rally field has water, washing area, freezer and 1 x shower and 1 x toilet per sex, all were clean with hot water and were modern with a rather nice centre piece to the entrance to both bathroom areas (you will have to go to find out).

We fully understood why the owners were a little concerned with the ratio of toilets to campers, however there a further two more blocks within the bunkhouse and in a small wooded area.We never had a problem with waiting for a shower with the exception of a chap that should have been nominated for “Britain does not have talent” that sang for a full 20 minutes in the shower and was greeted by a quae of blokes covering their ears.

The field behind holds 4 fishing pools (3 small and 1 large in comparison) they can be fished for £5 per day, although the larger pool needs maturing the landscaping with new plants and mature trees makes it a nice place to be.

The larger pool holds the largest fish (carp) to 11 lb and is a little more challenging, I managed a couple of hours with pellet and sweet corn and caught two to 7lb near the margins (it is very deep).

There is also a pond near the end of the pine lodges this is a fish a chuck with carp to around 2lb again with wild flowers and with some nice landscaping that blends into the mature woods that surround the site.

The pitch was great value for 2 adults and 2 children at £16.00 per night so decided to stay for another night as it was half term and £16.00 in half term does not go very far unless you go to the Woodside lodges.

Excellent Site.

Very welcoming and helpful on arrival.

Lovely site with some fantastic views. Good size pitches and although we had a weekend away without the kids, we would have no objections to bringing them here in the future.

The toilet blocks were very clean, however only one shower per block is simply not enough, can imagine that when the site is busier the queues must be awful.

Ledbury is only a couple of miles away with nice shops. Malvern Hills and Eastnor Castle are only a 20 min drive away.

The site is a gem, enjoy.

We liked this site, which we visited over the Bank Holiday weekend. We were a bit worried before we arrived as it has lodges and is in the Hoseasons brochure, but that part is very unobtrusive.

Owners were very friendly on arrival, and we saw them milling around a few times. They gave us the choice of the top patch (no electric hook up) which was rather sloping, or the bottom 'Rally' field, but warned us there would be a big group with a marquee. We chose the latter, due to the slope and fact that the distance from the marquee would be pretty similar.

When we first got there the new toilet block was immaculate and we were very impressed, but it soon became clear that 2 toilets and 1 shower in the nearest ladies was no where near enough. And then it got very muddy and the loo roll ran out. Also only one washing up sink. For an estimated 30 tents/caravans. But location fab, and nice big field.

Lovely conservation area, and beautiful setting, but don't let your kids investigate the stream or you may get told off!

We stayed here in the middle of March and had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The owner of the site was absolutely brilliant and made us feel very welcome.

The road to the site is a single track lane, and passes a large factory on the way - but don't be put off, when you arrive it's well away from all this and is in a lovely location.

The site owner provided us with some leaflets about the local area upon arrival and choosing our pitch was no hassle at all. We had lovely views looking across the hills and the field was in good condition considering the wet weather we had experienced recently!

The field was very quiet during our stay - only one caravan in the field, and the 2nd night we had the place to ourselves (but it was a very cold night so understandable really!)

The owner was happy for us to light up our woodburner in our big canvas tent and use a small BBQ on slabs outside.

The Westons cider mill is only a 15 minute drive away and is well worth a visit. We did try walking there but it's not a terribly direct route across the fields though the surrounding hills and fields are very quiet and relaxing to wander around. Ledbury is not far at all and could be walked to by the road for shops and pubs.

The facilities were clean and the showers nice and hot, though I'd imagine they get rather busy during peak times.

All-in-all a lovely site which we will definitely return to.
