Visited during May bank holiday with friends. The site has outstanding views and the owners are really helpful and friendly. The farmer even towed our van on and off the site. The pitch was in a sheep field at the back of the farm house. At first it was awkward dodging the sheep droppings but after a while you get used to it, after all it is a working farm.

Our children made good friends with the farmers children and were allowed around the farm to visit the lambs and chickens. The farmer was brilliant with the kids showing them how to feed the lambs and letting them hold some baby chicks. His wife Elaine runs a small cafe from the conservatory at the back of the house selling tea and cakes, sandwiches, and hot homemade evening meals. This is used by the campsite guests and passing walkers. The surrounding area is great for walking. We walked with the children to nearby Reeth which has a few shops and lots of pubs.

I would recommend you try this campsite for yourself and enjoy its tranquill and friendly atmosphere.

This site is a working farm set in idyllic surroundings. The owners, Elaine and Keith have just started with campers so facilities are at this early stage limited. Having said that, our visit to this site has proved to be one of the best breaks we have had to date!
Upon arrival at the farm, Elaine greeted us with coffee and buttered scones, where else would you get a welcome like that!
We were then shown to a large field to the front of the house. The field (that we had to ourselves),  had a gentle slope, we soon had our van levelled up. A hook up was arranged from the house. The views however, were out of this world, I can only describe them as 'stunning'.
My 13 year old son and his friend were kept busy assisting Elaine with lamb feeding, egg collecting etc. They thought this was brilliant, as well as lots of space to run around in.
The village of Reeth is nearby with shops, pub etc. There is also an abundance of walks nearby. The 'Coast to coast' runs down by the farm. Richmond, Leyburn and Barnard castle are all within an easy drive.
What makes this place are not only the lovely surroundings but the warmth and hospitality shown by its owners - Keith & Elaine, and their young family. They could not do enough for us.
Remember though this is a working farm with all that you would expect - early morning cockerel's, cows and the like. If you want clubhouses, amusement arcades, noise etc then this probably wouldn't do. If you want quiet relaxing tranquillity in beautiful surroundings - give it a go. We will be planning many return visits

Found this site completely by chance because we couldn't find the one we planned on going to! Its basically a farm with two very big fields with amazing views over the plateau above swaledale.

We were the only people in the field which was quite a feat considering all other sites we rang were full that weekend.

The amenities are basic- one toilet and no showers but the toilet is clean and there is hot water. They plan on getting some showers soon.

There is a tea shop (Elaine's Teas) on site selling home made cakes including prize winning apple pie and shortbread!

Basically a site for people who want a very quiet place to sit and relax and enjoy the view while eating cake and forgetting about the hustle and bustle in nearby Reeth.
