A good site, £20 pn inclusive. A friendly owner who greets you, points things out and then leaves you alone.

Easy to find from the M25 and then A13. Coded entrance which Margaret gives you on arrival.

It is mainly a site for contractors and has rooms for them to rent as well as hardstanding for caravans.

It's fine for a week, go to Tilbury Fort (only open at weekends this time of year), cross the Thames on the foot ferry or walk along it. Langdon Country Park is a good countryside place.

Otherwise loads of shops within a few miles, plus a convenience store in the village.

Very good facilities included in the price, plus washing machines and dryers

 Quiet site

Helpful owner

Washrooms looked splendid although we used our own and they might not be enough in rush periods

We parked on grass (our choice) but I do not think this would be available if there was any wet weather

Very quiet campsite. Really enjoyed the luxurious shower - very impressive - just like a home bathroom.

Not far from the Rainham Marshes bird reserve. Worth a visit.

Tidy clean site with easy access to A13/M25.

Toilets and showers available (although I didn’t check them out).

Really pleasant welcome.

Some traffic noise but that’s the cost of convenience!

Firstly I must say what a lovely friendly lady running this small but perfect site for us.

We loved the adult only and no dogs for August which made it lovely and quite. As motorhomers we needed fresh water. Electric, somewhere for our waste and a nice large shower.

There was only one female toilet lucky for me no one else using it. There is a washing up area a washing machine and tumble tryer if you need them.

We had a hard standing area at the side of site. With plenty of grass around. There are two other grass areas for tents or caravans. Plenty of space.

There is a little traffic noise from the distant main roads. Not to much of a problem to us.

There are contact workmen on site living in there individual caravans who were friendly but not a problem at all we never heard them go of to work in the mornings.

We would recommend this site if you want adult only and no dogs.

We have had a fabulous time at jays lodge campsite and have stayed here for many years on and off so have seen lots of changes including the new toilet and shower block facilities which are top notch brand new and spotlessly clean as is all the campsite, the grass is kept short and very tidy.

Margaret and Derek who own the campsite and the B&B lodge accommodation are amazing hosts very attentive looking after your every need, nothing is to much trouble for them.

Prices are very reasonable and includes unlimited electricity and water and all the facilities you would expect from a well run campsite.

We will definitely be back to sample their hospitality again and if you are thinking of booking please don’t hesitate this is a Gem of a place to stay and guarantee you will return year after year.

100% 5 stars from us

Best Regards

Mark & Sam

To start with let me say that I would definitely stay at this site again, and win small caveat, advise anyone else to do so as well.

We had intended to stay Wednesday to Saturday, but circumstances caused us to phone up in the Sunday and see if we could go early and they were absolutely fine with that so in the end we stayed Sunday to Friday.

The site is easily found (close enough to the M25 to get to but not so close you can hear it), very inexpensive (£13 per night with free electric!), the owners were nice and helpful, and it is on a regular bus route into Grays (stopping at the train station for easy connection to the Smoke). We paid £8 or £9 for a taxi back from Grays after a couple of late nights as well so.

We didn't go to the local pub as we didn't get chance but it really is only a two minute walk away.

Now the only downside. The toilet/shower block.

I would characterise the toilets (two unisex) as 'a bit tired' although they are quite roomy. They had obviously been up for a while and could have done with a refurb. Possibly that is the owner's intention because there are two new quite nice spacious shower rooms, but the finish on the amenities block as a whole is a bit lacking. That said, I've paid a lot more for a LOT worse, and they were cleaned every day.

The campsite seems to be a mix of a few tourers and about 8 or 10 statics which the owner's told us were mostly used by contractors working nearby (shopfitters and such). Lovely and quiet though nevertheless.

Like I said at the start, this is an excellent site all told and if I were wanting to spend a week in that London I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Have just had a wonderful 4 week stay at Jays Lodge Caravan Park.

Brand new shower block and electric hook ups provided with no restrictions.

A fantastic location in a beautiful village and a pub located only a two minute walk away, yet close to all major roads makes for easy transport.

This site is great in all respects and would certainly stay there again in the future.
