 A group of us visited this campsite over the bank holiday weekend, there were lovely views over the campsite and the kids thought the ponies were great and the site was very quiet at night. There are two nice pubs close by, with good food and OK for kids, 'The Chequers' and 'The Crown' both within walking distance, ask the owners for directions. You can also walk into Lymington which is about 1.5 miles along Lower Pennington Lane, I think the sea wall walk was a lot longer. The shop/reception only sold milk/drinks and sweets which was a pain if you only needed essentials bread, butter etc. they obviously wanted you to spend money at the Event Catering van which seemed to be popular in the mornings.
**Please note**, the big downfall for this site were the facilities, for the ladies there were only 4 showers, two of which were in porta cabins! Considering the size of this site it was ludicrous, there were queues on and off all morning especially the ladies. All of the toilets were in porta cabins (apart from two in the so called shower block, the ones with long queues!) which had no soap or paper towels etc at any time of the day. They did seem to be cleaned once a day but not to very high standards. If only they could inject some money into this site updating the facilities it would a great place to stay.
