I purchased this tent back almost 10 years ago, It has provided me many years of pleasure to camp, The only reason that we have finally discarded this wonderful tent was that the seams above the bedroom compartments (either side of the living area) were starting to deteriorate and water was starting to drip into the bedrooms and living area, most likely due to the number of years in operation.

I didn't feel that this deserved anything less than ten stars due to the fact that it has lasted almost 10 years so like anything after 10 years problems are likely to occur.

We are now moving in to the caravan realm (wish us luck).

Easy to erect and so spacious for just the two of us (we like to spread out).

We've been all over the UK and Wales in all weathers and all terrains, not once has this brilliant tent let us down.

There's plenty of room in the larger sleeping area for a double mattress and room in the smaller compartment for storage with a spacious dome for everything else.

My girlfriend asked me to upgrade our two man to something more comfortable to hang out in if it rains. Having never seen one, and ordering the Colorado online, we got way more than what we bargained for. This tent is absolutely huge! At 6'2 I can easily stand in the middle of the dome. I sometimes feel a little ridiculous having such a big tent for only the two of us. The benefits are a plenty though, we're able to store all our gear including table chairs, cooker etc in the tent, and therefore don't have to worry if it rains. On that note, if I had one complaint, it's that the tent doesn't have a built in ground sheet. Although the bathtub style does work, it can be a bit tricky to ensure no water is going to get in.

All in all I'm really happy with the Colorado 600

Nice watertight tent, has withstood gales and torrential rain.

Complaints are in the detail. Firstly the inner tents are connected to the outer with flimsy knicker-elastic which is totally stretched out and useless after the first 2 or 3 weeks (one foreign trip for example). Little thing, but they could have done better.

Second little grumble is that the groundsheet in the main living area is held up inadequately by toggles every 1 metre or so. The groundsheet can sag till it falls outside and catches run-off, neatly directing it inside. Normally fixed by stationing old wine bottles and the like at the problem spots! - But a design fault which would have been easy to have got right.

I love the light airy interior. We have realized that this design of dome tent does not allow us to have the door open whilst it's raining. A shame, and in a spell of wet UK weather it's nice to sit in and look out a bit. When the door is open the rain comes right inside. A detail and only possible to fix with a heavier bigger tent.

Last little thing is that the fabric has shrunk on mine and it was rigging further and further off the ground after probably 6 weeks overall use. I fixed this by cutting ~3cm off the poles. Easily done, and it's now snuggly back down near the ground.

Overall this tent is very good value for and gives a lot of watertight space for the money and pack size.

We are into our fourth year with this tent, and it's still going strong. We've been really pleased with it. We've spent a fortnight in Cornwall and ten days in Normandy with it, as well as several long weekends away. It has stood up to all manner of rough weather, and is big enough to live in comfortably. We chose this one because we wanted a big bedroom that we and our two small children could all sleep in together. We use the smaller bedroom as a storage area at the moment, but when the boys are bigger they can sleep in it on their own. If you need a porch area, you could go for the DLX version.

This is a fantastic tent! We normally only use the main sleeping section and leave the small sleeping pod in the bag so we have loads of room for the table fridge etc. And large dog crate. The main sleeping section is huge - fits the Coleman double comfort and 2 large bags with no problem. We love the fact it doesn't have a SIG (it has a bucket groundsheet covering the main area and the smaller bedroom)as it means there are no problems with condensation, however that does mean the dogs can abscond under the flysheet hence the dog crate! It's a really roomy tent with great headroom and very easy to put up - about 20 minutes. We've used it for 3 week stays in Guernsey, stays of a couple of nights on the mainland and we toured Europe with it for 6 weeks this summer where putting it up for a night was no problem. No problem in wind and rain, but Vango don't make a canopy to fit this tent. We've just bought a decathlon tarp to try out as the 1 downside is stepping out into the rain and not being able to cook under cover.

We choose this tent as it has good head room height and main sleeping section you can sleep in the same direction as the door so you don’t have to climb over each other to get to the door.

We don’t use the second sleeping compartment so have a nice large living area for tables, fridge etc which is very handy when it is raining.

The only downside is there is not optional extra canopy for the door. Ideal tent for two weeks in Cornwall and 4 day breaks around the country.

I've used one of these for five years. Must have slept in it for 75 nights, perhaps more. A good tent. Stands up to winds well. The headroom is very welcome, the accommodation is spacious. Build quality excellent. I have had a couple of pole sections split lengthwise, but Vango will repair or sell you new ones very cheaply.

I have the blue two tone version of this model. This was my first leap into family sized tents, going from backpacking to camping with my own family, we required something more robust with more sleeping areas.

For a larger tent this is really easy to erect, I can erect it myself in about 15 minutes (weather permitting) Just make sure to get it pegged out so the wind doesn't get hold!

The bedrooms are a good size, you can choose to hang the smaller bedroom or leave it to have a larger living area, you can also choose wether to have the two bedrooms at the other end divided or make it into one large room by removing the piece of fabric in the centre.

We've used this mainly for fortnight holidays in Cornwall and we have seen some bad weather but it never moved, very robust design.

The only reason I didn't give it a ten is because I would have liked a sewn in groundsheet, but I would definitely recommend it.

I have the model previous to this (its two tone blue) and I must say that when I first used it I was very impressed with the build quality and ease of use, all the stitching is secure the zips are robust and so too are the anchor points. There is loads of room in side as I have children and if its raining there is enough room for them to play board games etc at the table, it also has good headroom as I am nearly 6ft and can walk around without having to stoop. Its now been in service for a while and seen several trips and still looks and performs as good as new. In terms of keeping out the elements its top class, you really do not need to worry about heavy rain or wind, this tent copes admirably and would reccomend it to anyone.

I certainly wouldnt hesitate in buying one of these again. Well done VANGO
