2 Reviews of the 10T Mojave 400

After initial skepticism of a single skinned tent we were really surprised how well this performed on a 2 day family trip. It slept 5 of us (probably maximum and 4 would be optimum) and was the easiest family tent to put up we have ever experienced (used to tunnel or dome tents)
10 minutes is all you need which makes the lack of inner sheet bearable (condensation in the morning needs to be planned for by moving things away from edges but dries quickly aided by top and bottom vent flaps, the latter can be zipped shut at night to stop draughts) and critically makes it more likely that we will embark on spur of the moment excursions due to its speed and small pack size. Didn't experience heavy rain but it stood up to wind very well (a bit flappy but no sign of failure)
Teepee design is novel and provides more space than most tents of this size to stand up in.
Worth giving a go for something different as it gets back to the spirit of travelling light and camping being a 'simple' pleasure to be enjoyed as a minimal pursuit.

Ten minute set up, singlehanded.
It stood up well in wind, though it does flap a bit. It managed prolonged, heavy rain without a drip. It is singled skinned but it had minimal condensation which dried very quickly.
At 4m it has plenty of room for two / three people. For us it was a bit cramped, two adults, two small kids. But I simply took along far too much stuff! Next time Iíll try to minimise the packing.
Itís a dull brown colour on a cloudy day but with a tiny bit of sun it is a lovely copper colour. You canít miss it on the campsite!
Iíd love it only slightly more if it had an EHU point and if the door was a bit higher. With that in mind Iím going to deduct one star, although that does feel mean.
For a cheap Bell-Tent(ish) experience it is just great.
