2 Reviews of the Asaklitt Base Tent

We bought this tent two years ago for my daughters to sleep in in the garden with the grandchildren: nothing extreme, no mountains, no gales. They used it for a couple of nights. However, the door could never be properly zipped up, as the fit on the frame was too tight. Accordingly, we returned the tent to the supplier and received a replacement.
That replacement got its first outing two weeks ago, again in the garden. The design may have been modified, as the door fit was now no problem. However, this morning (it not having been slept in last night – fortunately!) we discovered that it had collapsed (see the uploaded photographs). It now has gallons of water in/on the collapsed dome. The collapse appears to have resulted from ponding of rainwater on the top (it has not been very windy). Future inspection, when the rain has stopped, will reveal the extent of frame failure.
What a useless tent!

I loved the look and size of this tent but a few things seriously let it down. I ended up returning it pretty quickly.
Difficult to erect. Used 5 odd shaped pole sections rather than straight poles. Would say almost impossible solo as poles jump out of connectors if not held in place. Managed with 3 in about 20 minutes after struggling by myself. Didn't help that one of the pole sections I received had 2 connectors in the wrong locations which I fixed myself rather than sending back straight away.
All of the seams on the inner tent were very 'stressed' you could see holes where the stitching was pulling so much. I also found a hole with no idea of if it was there when I got it or how it could of happened if it wasn't.
The zips were very tight and felt like they could fail at any time. This could be averted by pushing on the poles to relieve stress on the door.
If someone could make this tent with better materials / workmanship and add some sort of curtains, YKK zips etc I would happily pay twice the price for it.
I really wanted to like it. It looked awesome, was big, tall and well ventilated.
Pretty sure they don't sell it in the UK anymore. Shame.
