3 Reviews of the Falcon 6

I can agree with both the reviews about this tent, they are both very accurate. It is bomb proof and difficult to put up.The absolute absence of condensation is worth the effort though. I write this review just to let people know how durable they are, we have had ours for six years and apart from a retaining clip that broke, probably due to rough handling on my part, the only fault is that a couple of the rings in the rain skirt at the front of the porch are starting to pull out. Six years is a long time to keep a tent but I don't know what I could replace it with that would perform as well, and at under £400 . You can still buy this tent on eBay for around the same price, so if your a family looking for a way in to camping that doesn't break the bank and will give you a comfortable stay I would most definitely recommend this tent. HOWEVER practice putting it up first as doing so will prevent a divorce.

This tent is the bomb. We've taken it camping in the Hebrides, pitched by the beach with force 9 gales ripping out tent pegs and driving rain and it didn't budge (while we watched a neighbouring tent take off and pitch into the sea!). It's incredibly spacious inside, head height all the way through, the porch is big enough for 4 of you to sit round in camping chairs making cups of tea while it rains outside if need be. Best of all is the ventilation - no condensation, absolutely no water of any kind inside. Only down side is that it is a monster, takes up a lot of room, weighs a tonne, takes 2 to pitch and about 45 minutes to do it. The instructions are utterly inscrutable and the first time it took us 3 hours and one major domestic to get it up. That said, it's brilliant for rock solid family camping and if you want to be able to withstand some fairly grizzly conditions without a moment's anxiety it's the business.

This tent is fantastic for us, my wife has never camped before and it was about 25 years ago when I camped last. We are a family of 3 and a dog, it has loads room and the internal doors give you privacy if required. The porch area is ideal for setting up a kitchen and storage space, it has a good size living area for a folding picnic table with plenty of room around it. The bedrooms are big enough to fit a double self inflating electric bed inside, it has plenty of head room with room to walk at the bottom of the bed! Good storage pouches at each end of bedrooms.

A good thing you get no condensation inside because it has inner tent and flysheet. The tent does take 2 persons to assemble and about 45 mins it is extremely solid when pegged down as we had quite a bit of wind and rain one day with no affect to the tent. Only downside are the assembly instructions are very vague. Otherwise a good tent.
