I purchased a yellow one 3 years ago, then managed to find an unused green one,Used for 3days then added extra loops to bottom edges and extended the bottom of door edge to provide cooking area,(using walking pole.).If wild camping with a bright tent, buy some lightweight cammo netting, its cheap enough and bought by the mtr, 3-4 will cover small tent, cannot be beaten for price/performance. At 2kgs great fer solo backing.

I managed to get 2 of these tents for my sons aged 11 and 12, 1 orange and 1 green. They can pitch them in around 7 minutes each and they are light enough for them to carry if we go wild camping. I left one up for 3 weeks last spring and although it killed the grass the tent stayed dry and only needed adjusting a couple of times. They are getting hard to find now but if you do I would strongly recommend one. Even my purist (terra nova only) best mate had a hard time picking faults with it.

I have acquired this tent recently and have found it very good. It Is ideal for one man either backpacking or cycling with its low weight and small when its packed . Very easy to erect . Its not the colour I would pick ( bright Orange ) The downside is the inner tent (bedroom ). I cant understand why so much ventilation. The mesh you can see through and there are no privacy flaps to pull down or zip up to keep out the cold /chill and draughts, hence a problem arises when its very windy. You can feel all the draughts.

All In a all this Is a great little tent. I have tested it out in heavy downpours of rain and strong gusty winds and it has done very well. I have since fixed more eyelets and elastics on the base to give It more pegging options.

I used the tent throughout a week long hike around the Anglesey Coastal Path. On the 6th night it rained heavily and the wind was strong all night but the tent stood up to things very well. The porch was large enough for my boots and large rucksack and the inner area is large enough for a sleeping area and a small storage space on one side.

I'd recommend people buy this tent but unfortunately it seems that Argos have stopped selling them now, which is a great shame.

Fantastic tent - Bought for £25 quid - mine is green version, although I think the orange is cool.

Tent has withstood Wind and heavy rains without any problems.

As others have mentioned - small pack size, light, quick to pitch. Just nice size to sleep in and store rucksack inside, with boots in small porch area.

I have nothing negative to say about this tent, in my opinion it puts many of the more expensive one man lightweights to shame. I have given it 9 out of 10 purely because it is inner pitch first so obviously not ideal in the rain - but considering the time it takes to pitch and the price it is nit picking.

Great wee tent for solo trips. Porch is large enough for a medium sized rucksack, as already said prop the front with a walking pole for a bit more space for things like cooking.

Really easy and quick to pitch.

Is usually on special offer several times of the year. I got mine for £15 so well worth the money.

Looking forward to using it again this year

Bought one for when I do camping trips on my motorbike, due to its extremely compact size and light weight construction this was a no brainer of a buy! I did Lands End to John O'Groats with this tent (2000 miles in total, no motorways) camping at 8 different locations, and all in all I was impressed with the tent!

I'm 6'5' tall, so not the smallest of chaps, and had no issues with the size of the tent once fumbling about getting in. There was just enough room at the entrance behind the awning to store my boots & petrol can, and inside the tent was quite snug when I had my backpack & bike gear at the sides.

The only complaint I do have with the tent, is that even though it seems to be pretty well ventilated, I did wake up with quite a lot of condensation on the inside, which I had to wait to dry before packing up. But other than that, when I was at John O'Groats camping right on the cliff face, the tent faired extremely well being battered by a northerly coastal wind with heavy rain, no leaks or worries at all!

Ease of setting up is also a bonus, so if its raining while you're pitching, the more you put up/pull down the tent, you can get it down to 3 minutes from bag to tent.

Amazing tent for the money, well recommended if you are on a tight budget!

Bought for £17.99 from Argos, reduced from £48.89, this tent came in a relatively sturdy stuff-sac style bag.

The innovative design was easy to pitch and just about spacious enough for me (5 foot 8 inches) and my eight year old son - so would describe this as a 1.5 person tent. We both slept well.

Weather conditions were very good for the time of year (Sept. 09) so can't really comment on how this tent would cope with the elements although I would not see it having any problems with typical British Spring/Summer weather conditions.

Refreshingly, packing away was no problem as the size of the stuff sack was more that adequate.

Only negatives have already been highlighted by other reviewers i.E. The colour of the flysheet is a bit bright and the pegs are not that strong. Far from show stoppers.

One major problem for me, however, was discovery of 1cm long gap in the stitching of the groundsheet to the body of the tent that would certainly have developed into a tear. Argos provided a replacement - no debate, no problem - and replacement tent seems fine.

£17.99 is a remarkable price to pay for a tent of this quality and I would have no hesitation in recommending one to anyone looking for a 2 to 3 season one-person tent. Even at the full price of nearly £50, this tent has a lot to offer.

This was a cheap (£24 in the sale) option for a cycling tour of Orkney this year. Apart from the cost its other attractions are its weight (well below 2kg) and especially the very small size when in the excellent stuff sac.

On first trying it in the back garden I was pleasantly surprised by the clever design, decent materials and solid feel to the tent.

In Orkney there was some foul weather (surprise!) Heavy rain and quite strong winds. At least one larger tent snapped a pole and others bent alarmingly. The Hikelite was solid and completely waterproof, standing up to the wind as well as any more expensive touring tents on the site. I had no condensation problems and would have given a 10/10 if not for:

1. The foul colour

2. The alloy pegs provided could not cope with the stoney ground

3. It could do with a couple of extra pegging points either side of the fly to make it seem more stable

Space is short but sufficient for me, a couple of panniers and a small rucksack at a squeeze. Better this than increasing its weight.

An excellent tent for the money which holds its own with similar , more expensive tents

For the price I paid for it (£15!), this is a cracking little tent! I've had mine for about 5 years, and its never let me down once.

I have the original version with the green flysheet, which I think is nicer than the new version, but even so I'm not fussed as its the design I like.

I only planned to use it for a season as I didn't think it would last, but 5 years on its still going strong!

I suppose the only gripe is the fact that it's inner-first pitching, but then again when it's up it's very robust against the elements. This was proven when I camped near the top of Wetherlam in the Lakes last year in what felt like a hurricane. I lay there waiting for something to give, but it stood its ground!

I could go on forever about it, but thats how good it is! 10/10 for the price!
