6 Reviews of the Korsika 10

My inexperienced other half and his inexperienced 23 year old daughter put this tent up within two hours when we camped in Cornwall last week.
The weather was pretty dreadful but we didn't really experience any problems. It was a little drafty with gaps between the walls and the ground sheet and we found a couple of very small puddles gathered where there was equipment standing. However, in general it withstood quite a battering from wind and rain over a week. Other, more experienced, campers were flooded in the same conditions.
Two poles on either side of the entrance split during the height of the windy conditions and we repaired them with duct tape for the last two days.
The entrance is annoying in design with having to get on your hands and knees to do the tent up from the inside and there being no groundsheet for that area. We attached a guy rope to the zip for ease of opening but didn't figure out a way of preventing wet knees for closing.
The water we did notice, probably from condensation rather than an actual leak, was gathering on some plastic pegs attached to some seams. It was only a couple of drips so not really an issue once we were aware of it.
I was amazed at the ease of dismantling and that the tent was fairly easily packed back into the bag we brought it in.
Can't wait to get it out again (but we'll wait until spring)!

10 man? only if you want to come away from a camping weekend suicidal. At the time we bought ours we had an 11 yr old, twins at 8 yrs old and a babe in arms. With my wife and I we numbered 6 and we struggled for room. Even with only two in each bedroom we found that it pushed the inner tents into contact with the outer skin. Consequently when it rained we all had wet bedding.
Mind you, we didn't really need to wait for the water to come in through the side walls as there was ample coming in from the roof.
It's a fine weather tent only. I cannot recommend it.

I brought 1 of these in 2011 for £180 delivered.
I took this to Cornwall for 12 days, it was easy to put up due to the colour code poles, and had loads of room, it was very stable and was great from the trip with my 2 daughters.
I took it to Devon in 2012 and again it was no problem stood up to all that was thrown at it durning the 2 weeks there.
In 2013 it was taken to the Ise of white for 10 days, during the second day we experianced the heaviest storm I have ever witnessed it was so bad that everyone was asked to remain in the main complex building, when it had cleared some 1.5h later we headed back to the tents expecting the worst, I was very pleased and surprised to see that all our 3 tents were still standing, despite seeing several others blown over, the only water inside was due to the fact that the camp site was on a slight slope, but for the amount of wind and rain that had passed in that time, I was very happy with its performance.
I'm a little surprised by some of the comments on build quality, as during this stay my friend who is 6'2' and 16 stone was playing with the all the kids and tripped over the guy line on the rear 4 birth room, the result was one section of the rear poles broke off in the metal ferral and the two rear guy lines were ripped off, after sorting out the broken pole and fixing the guyline to the pole near to the original anchor points, the tents was fine for the next 5 days, this was fixed for £25 at a local camping specialist when we returned.
The only things I can say that could be improved are the bag it comes in could be better made, there are no options to add things like a porch and the head hight for exiting and entering are on the low side for a tent with 6'5' head room inside.
Overall I very pleased with it and I'm taking to the Isle of White this summer which will be the 4th consecutive year it been used.

We bought this tent from e bay for a similar price to the other reviewers.
Initially we liked the roomy living area, and it was relatively easy to assemble.
However, after giving it a number of outings during 2009 and one in 2010 we have changed this tent for a Sunncamp Mercury 1000, as it would not have stood up to a two week break without serious repair work.
In use we have noticed that the tent is stable in winds, but rain seeps in down the bedroom hanging seams and into the bedrooms. The outer fabric of the bedrooms does not stretch out in a nice angled shape, and this causes the inner room to come in contact with the tent, causing further water ingress.
The groundsheet fit the first time we used it, but we found the securing rings on the ground webbing stretched, and the tent becomes hard to get up to the floorpan size required as a result. All subsequent pitchings have left gaps between bedrooms and groundsheet.
As well as replacing these rings we have now had one section of webbing split from the bottom of the flysheet, another from the groundsheet, and four clips that secure the outer tent to the poles have also given way.
There are no accessories available, so we used an Outwell carpet, serious campers would want an extra porch as well as a footprint that includes the shape of the bedrooms.
My own opinion is that a tent of this size must have a SIG to ensure it keeps its shape and strength, otherwise too much strain is put through the securing rings and pole mounts.
A disappointing, but not disastrous tent. A few upgrades to quality would allow its virtues to show above its shortcomings. Recommended for light use and requires great care to avoid any damage to its fixings.
If we assume the tent has no value now, its cost us £6 per night pitched, I don't think thats great value for money really.

Purchased from ebay for £170 also. Sold for £40 straight after holiday.
Centre of tent is fine for standing but all walls do slope in.
Ground sheet is hard to fit to match up with all sides always leaves gaps.
Hard to fit the 3 bedrooms to avoid internal walls touching external sheet.
The door porch does not have any ground sheet and you have to get onto your hands and knees to reach zip as it is a single zip and shuts to the bottom, Very difficult, after a few days the zip stitching started to burst. If raining it’s a task and a half.
Stepped out of bedroom one morning into 1 inch of water as tent had flooded during the night due to all seams leaking and poor fitting ground sheet.
When windy and guy ropes tightened the ceiling does drop substantially reducing head height below 6 foot.

Have just stayed the weekend in this tent which was purchased new from ebay for £170.
They are a German brand & thats where the tent came from.
Its fairly easy to put up & has a huge living area which is great, the tent also looks pretty good.
I'm 6'4' & could just about stand up in the middle.
Sadly these are the only positives I could find.
One of the poles almost snapped when putting up, a tab ripped off one of the bed rooms & in a medium rain shower it leaked.
It doesn't have a sewn in ground sheet & there where a few gaps in it between tent & floor when erected so was quite draughty.
I've been camping in tents for a number of years & to be honest I suppose you get what you pay for as this tent is not very well made, all be it its not the worst tent around either but you wouldn't get many years service from it anyway.
