I have recently started using the tent again after a gap as my dog wanted to go camping with me. So we are doing lots of wild camping. The porch pole was breaking so replaced with alloy, still problems so now solved it by buying a Vango Pole kit which has a thicker fibreglass pole.

I find the tent a bit heavy when carrying but I can't find anything much lighter that has the features. The features I like are the porch with windows, I can have the doors open when its raining and just chill as the rain doesn't come in, I can sleep with the inner open to be cooler, or closed to keep all bugs out. The number of guy ropes really secures the tent in high winds. I have had it in gusting conditions making a lot of noise. The guys pack away easily with velcro. The floor length just fits me 5ft 8in with my head and feet touching the inner but by having a slightly diagonal position its fine, or if you don't mind touching. OK its a tunnel tent and you have to crawl in. The other feature I like is being able to erect the tent freestanding, ideal if inside or under a canopy and you can't put pegs in.

A superb one woman and her big dog tent . I wouldn't want to try this with two people though. You can sit up in it but certainly not high enough for anything else . It's a case of crawl in to bed. It's a great tent for a couple of nights but there's not a great deal of space to store equipment in for a longer stay.

The wee porch is great for sheltering your boots overnight.

Very easy for a single person to erect and put away.

This is a pretty good tent for the money. It works well for 3-season use in the UK, and is not too heavy. As others have noted it can sleep 2, but is quite cramped; an ample size for one.

It does have one flaw though - the fibreglass pole which forms the porch is required to bend quite a lot, and is likely to break. After my first breakage I bought a replacement pole. The second one has now broken too, but I managed to create another by undoing the shockcords from the two broken ones and creating a new pole out of intact sections. If it happens again I shall probably give up.

Smashing wee lightweight ONE MAN tent.

Fits in a pannier on my motorcycle.

Couple of minutes to put up/take down.

Comfy and dry.

As mentioned by others, one of the poles split first time out (solved with black electricians tape)

Other than that, it's perfect for 1 person to just take off and chill out for a couple of nights.

I bought this tent after owning a single skin one from a Superstore. Immediately the quality stands out and the single skin tent was shown to be inadequate when water came in through roof vents, and the condensation was bad bad, didn't seem to matter to much abroad.

This tent gave me comfortable nights abroad and at home.

I have used it in Spain, Italy, Wales. It was comfortable, in Spain I kept the front door open to create a breeze and could have the mosquito net open or closed. In Wales the compactness kept me snug.

The things I don't like are its a bit narrow, and the length of the inner means I sleep diagonally so my head is not touching canvas.

The things I like are, lots of pockets, the porch and windows so you can see whats going on outside. Its cheap and not too heavy, particularly for flights. I like the colour, and its watertight. Plus if you peg the lines out I reckon it'll withstand anything. Its definitely a one man tent, although will fit two but one man with comfort.

I was able to leave a large suitcase in the porch when I left the tent for a few days.

After having been on several trips I pitched it in the garden and looked later - one of the poles in the porch had broken. I got a replacement piece, but the poles are not under warranty. Not had a problem since.

I love this tent and want to go wild camping with it, little cooker in the porch etc.

I bought the Vango Alpha 200 for solo camping, that's it. The tent is pretty good all things considered, except in one respect - this is not suitable for two and is pretty tight for one plus gear! If you're back packing and moving on every day this will be great because of its pack size and weight. If you're planning to spend time in this tent other than sleeping it's too small and head height is a problem. Porch storage area is adequate. Have used this tent in heavy rain and stayed perfectly dry, not a drip in sight. If you can get this for less than £30 you've got a great buy!

I bought this tent for V festival last year.

The package is really small and easy to carry. It's light enough for a backpacker and the tent easily folds up back into the bag.

It only takes a few minutes to put up considering that it is a such a small tent and there's only three poles to put in. The flysheet has many fixing points which mean it wasn't flapping about on windy nights.

The front porch is a real bonus considering its such a small tent and it's even got little blinds which can be rolled up. Something I wasn't expecting for a small and reasonably cheap tent.

The only downside to this tent is that it's quite narrow for what is said to be a two person tent. There's plenty of room for one person to sleep comfortably but if you need to have your gear next to you (like I did) there isn't much room for a self inflating mat, or for getting dressed/undressed.

Overall I'm really pleased with this tent and I would definitely recommend it to a festival goer or backpacker. The only reason it gets 8 stars instead of 10 is due to the restricted width. Other than that, it really is a worthwhile purchase.

I bought this last year for my son and daughter to sleep in when we went on holiday and as an extra bit of room to go alongside our Vango Sungari 600.

On our first attempt to put up the porch pole split, our shop gave me another.

Sadly the pole has split again and as yet I havent got around to replacing.

The tent fits its purpose in all other ways, it's warm dry and compact. Very easy to put up and there is room for two kids in there. In fact my older two have slept out in the garden and wired up the portable telly and dvd player and had great fun on their own.

Would I buy it again. Yes if vango improve the porch pole.

I purchased one of these for a weekend away on my motorcycle pretty easy to set up but lacked the space I needed for me and my gear I found the tent slightly cramped and there was a lot of moisture on the inside but its windproof and warm and light for a hiker looking for a quick pitch its ideal I would not advise you to buy this if you intend to share :) I got myself a High Gear electron 3 - 3man tent which is so much better :)

I first used this tent (no wind or rain) in by garden just to test it out and during the night the front porch pole split at one of the ends that didn't have a metal linkage. This happened repeatedly and one time it snapped clean in half. This is obviously a design fault as too much pressure is being exerted on the front pole. I would not advise this tent for anyone despite the price. Apart from the poles the rest of the tent was very good for the price.
